Why does a quarterback who has started at least 13 games in his career still have an issues with "settling down" against a team like Jacksonville State?

Is the position and responsibility to much pressure for him to handle as the starter? Can he be "the man"?

I think the speed of the game is too fast for Miles.

Harris was obviously feeling the pressure from his performance last week and was pressing.

Harris is mentally wrecked right now.

I don't know if he will be able to get out of it either.

Harris doesn't need to settle down he needs to become more detailed oriented and don't underestimate the importance of little things required at the QB position.

MIles. Harris has a problem with his release and touch on his throws mostly. IMO.

Wasn't there some serious booing going on? I mean, that would be unsettling I would think.

After a quarter with no first downs there was some booing.

LSU wasted a full quarter of opportunity.

What I don't get is all summer/offseason everyone that was asked about Harris. There answer was he has the confidence and has grown so much. 1st game comes around and it's the total opposite. He got worst.

Why the hell does it matter whether or not Harris is settled down when Etling is perfectly settled down?

Why is Les focusing on who should be our backup QB right now instead of focusing on who should very obviously be our starter?

Harris has had a full season to "calm down" but I don't think his performance last week helped. He was definitely pressing. With that being said, I do think that our offense works better under Etling because he seems to be able to get to his second and third progression on a consistent basis whereas Harris panics after he sees that the 1st progression isn't there. To QB for Cam you have to be able to read a defense and cut out coverages pre snap so you pretty much know it's going to one or two places if you read it right, something Harris can't seem to do and Etling knows the playbook like the back of his hand.

They should have anticipated it.

No doubt after last weekend. The comment about Miles and the game speed is that IMO I think he is not seeing and reacting to game play in real time due to not keeping up with the game mentally. Even his statements following games it seems he has not absorbed mentally what he was seeing in real time.

Etling stepped up in the pocket, made some nice throws and provided a spark the team and fans needed. Interesting to see who Coach Elmer Fudd starts Saturday

Miles.

We observed in the first week of football many coaches seeing the game play and making changes. The Navy game the coach brought the freshman qb out of the stands. What did Miles do? zippo.

Miles comment on Harris is Miles being slow at brain.

some players get very nervous about games. It doesn't mean they can't overcome and play well but LSU's staff hasn't figured out a way to settle BH down. Prob need to let him watch a series from the sidelines and bring him back in
