Let's have a civil discussion about our expectations of the qb position. Harris will start the next two years and improve significantly with more experience.

He was slowly brought into the fire this year and stumbled against an all world defense in Alabama and was just flat against A&M, other than that he was well above average.

I'm sick of the negativity of the small percentage of the fan base. We need to support our players and program.

Any slower it would have been hard to detect any movement at all.

The way the used Harris this year did nothing for his abilities.

I swear it seemed like he just threw it deep every time.

People have been beyond reactionary to Harris' play.

I have seen people seriously call for McMillan to start.

Very rarely to Underclassmen truly succeed at the position in the SEC.

If you look at the really effective QBs this year you will see three of them are RS Seniors and the 4th is a RS Junior

We started a true sophomore.

If McMillan wins out fine, but Harris replaced Jennings because jennings had physical limitations that Harris didn't.

Exeperience and time are important. People have unreal expectation of QBs

I dont disagree but that is what he did in high school.

One of my concerns is the air coryell system cam likes to use, it's old and outdated. Shotenheimer learned under cam and you see how Georgia turned out this year.

For some reason some QB's get better in their Junior Year like Mett and Russell. Flynn it was his Senior Year but he was behind Russell. Mett made a big step from Sophmore to Junior Year. If you look at Arkansas and Ole Miss Games Harris has some good numbers. The Ole Miss Game the Offense had enough numbers to score a lot more Touchdowns!

Our passing offense ranked somewhere in the 100s this year.

Harris ranked 86th I think.

Harris isnt the problem.

I agree with you 100%. You can tell that Brandon is a hell of a talent, I fully believe he will be great when he graduates. Everyone overreacted bc of all the events at the end of the season.

Yep. For some reason..

It's crazy, I can't figure out why the heck our quarterbacks get better after three more years of quarterbacking... It's just illogical.

Ah yes, the "youth" excuse. Again.

Harris has been under Cam for nearly two full years. QBs can, and do, produce very well at that age.

This excuse is just so tiresome.

Should we expect to see Etling with a legitimate chance to compete for the starting job?

Gunner Keil is young, so it is not always age. I do think Brandon can do it and if the players collectively practice in the offseason we will see improvement.

All we have to do is absolutely perfect the damn screen pass and slant routes. Throw over the top when the safety cheats on the short route. But alas this is what drives us all (most all) nuts about Miles in the first place. The most obvious crap is never done, and the one time it gets run works great and never see it again. Ever.
See LSU vs KY 2007.. Charles Scott runs wild all the 1st half and poof he disappeared from the game. Ky wins And we all wondered what the hell? Miles says some crap about "we would have like to give him the ball but the opportunity was not there " etc

It's not an excuse if it is the truth dumbass. Two years and one year as a starter. Nothing in practice can equate to what happens in the game.

Yes, he may be young and starting for the first time this year, but where was the growth and progression from game to game? If a quarterback has not made much progress between game 1 and 12 then what do you expect people to think. I don't think people expect him to be a world beater but progress would be great. Could me make an argument for a slight regression? I blame most of that on Cam. Next year we will know for sure. What irks me is that we are even in this position. With our recruiting, facilities, and level of program I just don't see why we can't land a stud every now and again. Georgia and Bama always seem to reload at qb, someone waiting to step up. Look at Cokers progression through the year. Dude started shaky and ended up pretty darn good. I still support Harris as he is the best we got.

And they can also be shite at that age.

Sorry but great sophomore QBs are more rare than people make them out to be.

Especially in the SEC.

Harris is fine. He was one of the most sought after QB's in the Country. He was the 2nd rated Duel threat QB. Miles recruited him as a Duel threat QB knowing he never took a snap under center so quit trying to make a Zac Mett out of him and we will be fine. But if Miles is not trying to put a square peg in a round hole or making something that is easy and simple making it complicated then he wouldn't be Miles
