I hate watching that release by rivers. He does well at reading the field under pressure. Looked like he had a shitty OL. Looks just like his brother.
I'm a fan of Randle. He's fast, is a lot better passer than I remember. It'll be interesting to see how he does here. Hope we get to see him a little bit this season.

By all indications, there WAS a QB compeition, and JJ was everybody's choice at QB preseason.
QB by committee was just how things played out due to the circumstances.

There has not been a quarterback competition at LSU in three years. Daddy Les gave to keys to the car to JJ before the start of spring practice every year. And regardless how much Lee out played him. Big daddy Les would tell everyone how much better his son was playing. We all know it and we all knew that when he returned from probation, the keys were waiting for him. This year will be a little different. The difference will be the starter is really going to be the best player.

Rivers needs to eat....alot. I'm sure Moffet (sp??) will get him going in the right direction strength/size wise.

What indications are you going on? The spring game JJ was horrific. In the scrimmages multiple sources reported Lee was outplaying him.
Les was the one pushing JJ just like he did in the summer on his JJ PR tour!

Honestly, this is still the most concerning thing about our QB situation going forward because anyone that thought JJ was the right choice has to have their judgment questioned.

JJ is gone. I wonder if we'll ever be over him.
If les doesn't settle on a passing qb we'll be reliving the agony over and over for the rest of our lives.
I get upset when I hear they are recruiting dual-threat qb's. Not a racial thing. I don't care if the qb is mobile - such as a perrioloux or davey, or Jamarcus. those guys could throw, and we expected them to win with their arms, with maybe a little help from their feet.
I hear the Randle kid is of that mold, so i am not worried about him at this point. I do worry, that les will put him in with the same gameplan and instructions he gave to his all-time favorite football player.

Mett's the best at the moment. we're letting Randall develop for a couple yrs before unleashing him.
