You are 100% correct... There is always a fear of consequences from any form of protest. Owners have the right to support their employees or not as well...At which time protesting citizens have to decide to continue or not.

As a vet myself, you are wrong. They have the right to protest. They don't have the right to not have a negative response. The NFL is a business and if their actions affect their bottom line they have the right to penalize them any way they see fit. Does the NFL fine or suspend players for what they wear, say or how they act? If it affects their image or bottom line they act within their rights.
you sir are almost correct. It all goes back to the intent and the CBA. I would bet the house that there is absolutely NOTHING the NFL could or would do than support their players as the large percentage are African Americans.
99% are overall good guys.
The fact is the NFL has a huge issue with the Hernandez situation to worry about. Sounds like the Saints targeting all over again except this time it is the Pats.
Here is my feeling about why we saw what we saw:
That dumb tweet by someone who never served and openly admits using bankruptcy to get out of paying his debts, shows a lack of respect for The Office of the President of he United States.
Yet, if I was still capable of serving and he said to go to war, I would willingly make that sacrifice without hesitation.

Oh, I'm not defending the POTUS. For the first time in my adult life I did not vote for either of the tops of the ticket in a presidential election. It's the second time I didn't vote the top of the ticket in a major election. The other was the governor's race between Edwin Edwards and Duke.

I said I'm a vet, but to clarify, Im a vet in the having deployed aspect. I am still serving to this day.

Pat Tillman

What is he incorrect about? The NFL, and any company, can mandate employees who represent them act in accordance with that which makes them most profitable, excluding religion and sexual orientation. The company can tell them how to act.

It'll be awesome to watch the melt next week when he kneels. Trust me. It's coming. This makes him no better than players who kneel just like it doesn't make them worse. Same difference. It's nice to see people have to make threads like this. Kneeling is working.

It took more courage for him to stand up than it did for the other players to kneel.

You can protest with being disrespectful and he just proved it.

Maybe on the field before the first snap of the game, but not during the national anthem.

When nobody wants to hear it no matter how it's done, the tactic used to protest doesn't matter. Reality is, most people like you want to hush them and ignore the topic no matter how it's done. Either way, it's great to see it on the Rant. Kneeling works.

my friends wife is banning NFL in their house until something changes. He isn't happy, but can't argue about it being a Howard Grad and raised in DC.

Fully disagree. People didn't want to hear it in the 1960's, but the message was able to get across and change was able to take place.

You don't know shite about me or where I come from and to presume you do, just shows you are part of the reason some in this country aren't interested in listening.

Only if the message can be articulated by those taking part in the protest. Reality is, the kneeling that has taken place today has at least 2 different meanings (white supremacy and anti-Trump) aside from what the original protest was for (police unfairly targeting minorities). If the message isn't clear to those doing the protesting, then how is the target audience supposed to know?

does the NFL and CBA have in their specific contract or CBA specifically state that players have to stand for the National Anthem or pledge of alligence or say a prayer as a team before a game? I haven't seen nor heard of it that broad use of authority given to Roger Goodwll. Here is some reading for you and your friends that seem to support what that dummy tweeted. Doesn't sound like he is or would even do anything BUT support the people who make up the product on the field.

In a statement Saturday morning, Goodell said the NFL is at its best "when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture."

"Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities," Goodell said, in part, referencing Trump.

The NFLPA also released a statement Saturday morning, saying that it makes "no apologies" for protecting the rights of its members, which include freedom of speech.

Well shite let's see, it's 2017 and the shite has gone from hoods to uniforms. The same shite is happening every year. There are 2 major issues being lumped together. There is police brutality against every race. That's one issue. But, there is also another issue that is related in that when it comes to being black, that brutality is more likely to happen with more ease and less hesitation. That is what is being protested.

You don't know shite about me or where I come from and to presume you do, just shows you are part of the reason some in this country aren't interested in listening.

You sound guilty. If the shoe doesn't fit, then don't wear it. If you don't feel like you belong in the group I was speaking about, then why are you so butthurt? I'm speaking about very specific group that has wanted to shut people up no matter how peaceful or violent the protest is. Their hate keeps them from taking part in a positive conversation. If that fits you, then yes I'm talking about you too.

I'll answer you question with you own question that was your own answer. " The kneeling that has taken place today has at least 2 different meanings (white supremacy and anti-Trump) aside from what the original protest was for (police unfairly targeting minorities)"

It's that simple. You have the information you asked for, but refuse to listen or hear it. You just don't want to hear the message or messages because it's coming from people you might not like and/or it's not done in an approved, suppressed way.

All of these anti posts are intolerant also.

I am a veteran and even though I have my own views of the issues each person has the right to peaceful protest.

Standing are Kneeling either way.

The issues need to be worked on without a doubt.

Those that choose to blast Juice are no better than those that choose to blast the players that are kneeling or sitting.
