Does CPM roll with the same roster he started with today? Or will he make the call and bring in some of the guys who were clutch at the end of this game?

Or has it already been set?

I say Romero to 1st, Deichmann either to LF or on the bench.

Eta: Was told Romero doesn't play first. That leaves sending Bryce Jordan or Papierski(sp) to the bench which will not happen.

When a guy comes in goes 2/3 in high pressure situations you have to reward him imo.

I don't think benching Deichmann is that ridiculous. 0-3 today reached on an error, thrown out at 3rd. His error led to a run.

Deichmann needs to step up.

My favorite opening night over-reaction was when Ibarra made an error or 2 at third, and some poster on here proclaimed that he would be the worst 3rd baseman ever, and that he just didn't look like he had range or ability.

I'm not saying send someone to the bench for poor play, I'm saying reward Romero for his performance and see if he can replicate it. For that to happen someone has to go to the bench.

For hitting one ball hard? Chill out man. Romero may be a great player for LSU, but benching Pap or Jordan after they both played great on opening day, not a solid idea.

That's why I said putting Deichmann on the bench initially. But people said that was dumb as well. So I guess there's no way to get Romero into the lineup then.

He's the backup catcher. He'll likely catch once per weekend.

The lineup should be the same tomorrow. You don't change things based on 1 game. I do think it is possible that he'll start Romero at C Sunday and maybe other Sundays to give Paps a break. This has nothing to do with Romero's performance tonight.

Agreed. Liked how both catchers competed tonight. Romero has some issues getting the ball back to the pitcher, maybe it was just nerves. Pap squared a few up, I love the way he works counts.

Alright, I understand what y'all are saying.

I just feel that with CPM's history of endless lineup tinkering there's a decent chance we see a change or two.

He looked smooth. All 3 that played on the left side of the infield looked pretty good defensively

Kim and Josh have hit the nail on the head. The lineup shouldn't and won't change based on 1 game. Romero came up with some huge hits tonight but he's not on Papierski's level defensively.

What this has done is vaulted him to the top of the first off the bench group that will challenge for a spot when and if a starter is struggling.

That was strange.

His first 2 outs were well stroked for sure.
