I never said a team never runs clock on offense. I'm talking about general offensive strategy, not some late game, protect-the-lead strategy.

no, I'm suggesting Canada adapt the scheme to put Etling in the shotgun, and run shorter routes to get the ball out faster. You know, so the bad O line protection doesn't hurt as bad.

Bama? On the road? In their stadium?
I'll take W's against everybody else and an L against Bama right now. We need several quality O lineman & D lineman this recruiting cycle, badly.
I'm suggesting back to basics to try and salvage this season!

If they can sustain drives and keep D rested, I'm ok with short game mixed with run to make it possible.

It wasn't just Bama who figured out how to stop our old offense. Everyone knew. Any team with half a backbone on defense could stop our running game on any given year. Go back and read the SEC coaches comments from last year. More and more teams were getting the capability of doing that which is why our in conference record was trending downward. Eventually we had to evolve. The longer we put it off the more painful it was going to be. Suck it up. It ain't like we're winning a championship this year anyway.
