I don't understand his tweet. How was Burbank being used in the past. How do you better use Burbank using two lanes?

No contraflow on Nicholson. Will have contraflow on Burbank. See this from LSU:

"One of the major changes from last year is that contraflow will no longer be used on Nicholson Drive/Highway 30. Instead, LSU will take advantage of Burbank Drive and utilize that four-lane road to move as much traffic away from campus in an efficient manner."

Okay. His tweet is really shitty.

Apparently the two outbound lanes on Burbank will be used.

EBR is the largest parish. But BR is not the largest city.

Were the two outbound lanes not being used in the past after the game?

They were but apparently you could turn off of it. I don't park anywhere near there and my route out is fine, but it's clear now that they just don't care.

College station had literally miles of cones setup. So there's no excuse for that not to occur on Nicholson and Burbank with 6 total lanes out.

You couldn't turn off Burbank until bluebonnet in the past

the main problem with 100,000 people leaving at once is that the streets around can't handle it

On the west side, it is really bad. Most people park in grass lots. When you are in one of those grass lots you have to make sure you are in the correct lane. The levee lots exit onto River Road (2 lane road), the Hayfield lots exit onto Gourrier 2 lane road, and not many street exits. As soon as you turn out of Gurrier you turn onto two-lane Nicholson, that goes from 4 to 2. Hopefully, Burbank will help alleviate eastbound traffic

I do think Nicholson is a horrible problem not just for football games but also traffic in general. It's horrible how it is designed. Many times only 2 or 3 cars will make it through a light cycle going one way because there is no left turn lane. If they installed a left turn lane at Brightside and Tigerland, traffic would flow so much better. That may not help post game traffic, but it make driving on Nicholson a lot better.

They do everything better in texas what do you expect.

IDK how they would do it, but there needs to be some way to have traffic flow and not have ot worry about people merging which I think slows it. Lot's of people need to go to the interstate, so have predefined routes that will take you to the interstate, if you aren't going to the interstate stay off those routes. Maybe that would help. Basically our plan is send everyone in 2 or 3 directions and let them find their own way home.

Id be willing to bet a large portion of the leave early crowd do so because traffic is so shitty.

my question will be if I park in the back 9, the golf lots, or the hayfield lot, can I get to brightside, either through tigerland or turning right off Nicholson or am I forced to park in the levee lots?

people will leave early because the game will be decided during the first quarter.

Auburn will be the first real test of traffic, I think it will be a really good game and people won't leave early, so you will have 95,000+ leaving at once.

So has it been determined that there will be 4 lanes of contraflow on Burbank? And that Bonnette just sent an incredibly shitty tweet?

It looks like that's the case, but the 2015 Parking Updates doesn't explain it well either. Where does the contraflow stop? Can you turn off on lee, staring, etc? They need to explain it better.

I agree, post-game traffic shouldn't be as awful as usual.
