Obviously you haven't seen what people do to these kids on social media and you can't tell me that the empty stadium at half doesn't have an effect on the players and recruits.

Yeah, it makes them focus on what those ppl are doing outside the stadium (after party).
Seriously though, they should play their hearts out no matter who is in the stadium. Those left paid good money to see effort. LATech, Duke, Boise, SHSU, UTSA, WKU and countless more programs get out on the field and bust their tails to play every week, even though they've only got 15k in the stands. Not to mention they're only on tv when they are sacrificial lambs for a P5 rent-a-win. Our boys get national exposure every single weekend. That alone is worth busting your tail for!!!
