good point. we hired coach o to avoid a rebuild. now we're stuck. if we wanted 8 or 9 wins with 10 every now and then (with a bowl game) we coulda kept miles. i don't see orgeron winning more than 10 games a year here, and it won't be on a regular basis.
lets hope brennan is the real deal. next year will be orgerons last if we aren't in the running for the west. this year should be about getting brennan ready for next year.
brennan will have two more years before the declaring and narcisse will have another year or two after that.
i've already written this year off, but it looks like we may have a good 3 to 4 year run with good qbs after this year.

Stars are not the be all end all, but they are a pretty damn good representation of talent of the overall team. Thats why the top teams go hard after those specific players.

I got bored today...comparison of stars and experience. (1=freshman, 4=senior) vs bama, auburn, And miss st and Syracuse for obvious reasons.

Myles recruited no OL the last three to five years which is why he got canned. Until they get some OL that are worth a crap nothing will change regardless how many 5 stars they recruit.

But your chart is wrong. LSU is a young team. They start 20 Freshmen! I'm not sure if it's split 10 on defense and 10 on offense but that leaves 2 upper classmen. /s
Thanks for posting this chart. So many people just keep repeating the whole young team thing with no idea how far from the truth it is. If you listened to them you would think our whole team last year magically vanished and O had to start from scratch like Marshall had to.
In the end, everything is coach O's fault. He's the leader of the team. Even he says to blame him. I'm hoping he can pull it around. I don't have much faith and am not believing anything until I see decent results on the field. Had LSU come out and looked decent and handled MSU (and others) with a competent offense, then I think he would be given credit also. Maybe not from the real hardcore O haters, but from most of us, we were believing what he was saying.

Stars are a guess. That's it. They go by size, and speed most of the time. That doesn't mean a whole lot. There have been a million 5* busts

this is nothing but another coach O bashing thread. the gross number of highly rated players on a team does not tell the whole story when you have huge OL deficiencies and depend on true freshmen at LB, OL and the secondary.
the good news is that these "babies" are getting both experience and maturity and will be a big asset in the future and we have a damn QB! If, and that's a big if, our OL can come around and we get lucky with returning guys this team can take a big step forward later in the year and the future.
