No - he should be fired. Handled this poorly and made the university look ridiculous. Also, his speech Saturday night made it very obvious that he doesn't want Miles and it will be a tense working relationship - not gonna work.

bullshite. That's total incompetent on dip shite Alleva. You don't make a "power move" if you don't have the authority to pull it off.
FIRE ALLEVA FOR GIVING LSU A BLACK EYE -- NATIONALLY!!

No.

Alleva is a lame duck and his presence creates continued doubt and uncertainty about the football program.

He took his shot, he lost, now he needs to go.

Alleva works for King Alexander.
Alleva felt we needed change. That's not an irresponsible conclusion and may be a very good one.
Alexander cut his knees out from under him for all the wrong, spineless reasons ("appearances").

Alleva is merely a pawn of the BOS and FKing. It is his job to carry out their wishes. I think he stays because the administration needs a "yes man". I don't really care for him so fire him if you want, but he would be replaced by another yes man.

Alleva screwed up and needs to go. If Miles retaining his job was an option, Alleva needed to make a public show of support and quiet the rumor mill weeks ago (even if he still did want to make a move...can always claim that things changed...). I don't know if he is the primary or even a key part of the shitstorm but he wasn't capable of stopping it from spiraling out of control and for that he needs to be the one that takes the fall for it. Also, a new AD would not be hampered by this mess and would be free to act in the university's best interest whereas Alleva's wings have been clipped by these past few weeks.

There was no way this mess could have been handled without friction, mistakes, and misunderstandings. Situations like this are so complex that there's no way anything could be done "right" to satisfy every interested party. We, the fans and the media, made life impossible for everyone. We like rumors, details, misquotes, "reading between the lines". When the smoke clears we'll all realize this and move on. I was exceptionally pleased how Coach Miles handled himself in several difficult interviews.

NO - why fire Alleva? doing his job. He can't help that he is AD of a school run by politics

Everything is politics. If Miles returning was a real option, the AD's job is to quiet the rumors so they would not damage the reputation of the university or recruiting. Alleva made the worst possibly play he could make.

but I think Les got the message.

Cannot confirm until we see the play calling next season. If the first play is a toss dive, Miles did not get the message.
