Well deserved! I was there and didn't realize that the only runner he allowed was on the error.

Very special for his first game of the season.

First individual LSU no-hitter in 38 years. Amazing start to his senior season.

Yeah
Would have been perfect game if he wouldn't have called off Freeman on that play.
With that said, Kramer made some awesome plays at SS to pretty much save 2/3 infield hits.
It was also impressive because Army tried to bunt to get on as well.

For a single pitcher.
But Poche had a role (starter obviously) in the last no hitter that I can remember LSU having in 2014 against Northwestern St. He combined with 4 other guys to do it...albeit in a rain shortened event. I guess the more memorable thing about that games was the 27 runs score.....they couldn't get anything by any of out hitters that night.
Obviously Saturday was a lot more impressive but LSU did toss a no hitter not that long ago in a combined effort.

Kramer hit a homer in this game of I remember correctly.

Indeed he did...we had 2 grand slams and a 3 run job hit in that game
It was a complete demolishing which is probably why I remember it so well.

Edited to clarify.
That NW State game was a crazy one... I remember the 27 runs a lot better than the no-hitter.

Without a doubt.
No need to edit they didn't mention it on the radio either this weekend after the game and I thought I was wrong until I actually looked up the box score from that game
ETA If I'm not mistaken Kramer and Poche are the only two around that played in that game....yes I'm looking at the box score again...otherwise I never would have remembered Sean McMullen from that team

Mainieri talked about being a part of a team that pitched a combined no hitter in his post game interviews. Also talked about pulling Nola after 7 innings when he had a no hitter against Va Tech in 2013

Yea that was impressive too....no way Paul lets Poche go 9 if this one is a 9 inning affair I don't think (certainly not in game 1 for him). Still this one will be the one that is always remembered I think.

Has to be a dream come true for Poche, after making the decision to come back for his senior season...
Best of luck Jared during the rest of your senior year...

I think he threw 79 pitches, 6 under his limit for the day...

yeah Paul said if it wasn't three up and three down in the 7th he would have pulled Poche. Admitted it wouldn't have been a popular one but he wasn't going to needlessly extend a pitcher in his first start of the season

Ole Miss' Ryan Olenek went 6-for-13 (.462 average), recording a team high in hits and tied with a team-best two doubles to help lead Ole Miss to a sweep over No. 6 East Carolina.
In other news LSU had 4 players with better weekends
Cole Freeman hit .600 (6-for-10) last weekend in the Tigers' wins over Army and Air Force with two doubles, four runs, three RBI, two stolen bases and a .636 on-base percentage … he also recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 11 chances
freshman third baseman Josh Smith recorded a team-high six RBI in the Tigers' three wins over Army and Air Force … Smith hit .429 (3-for-7) with one homer, six RBI, two runs, one steal and a .500 on-base percentage
shortstop Kramer Robertson batted .556 (5-for-9) with one double, one triple, four RBI and four runs,
rightfielder Greg Deichmann hit .444 (4-for-9) with one double, two homers, five RBI and three runs.

This is the key to why those stats led to that weekly recognition for that OM guy.
