Basically said Lange and Poche weren't available - guessing we are throwing Valek. He said he would reveal the plans this morning around 11 on the SEC media call

Surprised Lange isn't available, but they probably just want to keep him on schedule

In other words, they think they can beat Tenn. without Lange and want to save him
for Florida

It's less offensive to the opponent if you start your worst guy because your best guys are "unavailable."

They'll throw 4 or 5 different pitchers tomorrow. Whoever starts won't go more than 3.

Throw Valek on Tuesday vs Tennessee and then on Wednesday you have a rematch of Lange vs. Shore.

Just need to win tomorrow and make sure Lange and Poche can each get a start this week. I'd hate for them to go 2 weeks without a start.

They will likely pitch Will Neely, who went 7.0 innings only giving up 5 runs and 1 ER against LSU two weeks ago. That doesn't set LSU up well with Valek on the mound if Neely does the same thing.

Possibly, but a flame out by South Carolina and Ole Miss could open the door for LSU to possibly get a 4th National seed out of the SEC. The rest of the country is BAD this year.

I'd think Tenn. starting pitchers wouldn't be ready to start either.

He just said Neely will likely start but it will be an Allstaff approach.

yea. no matter who the opponent is you don't want to seem to be disrespecting them cause it might just fire 'em up.

Neely pitched Thurs vs UGA and got shelled in 3rd.
