If lsu and florida won out and then we lost to florida in the sec championship, do we have a shot at still making the playoff and playing florida yet again?

They have been talking for weeks about how the sec could possibly get 2 teams in. With the second team not playing in the sec championship. Personally i do not see why a team that doesnt make the sec championship game should get considered over a team that loses it. Especially when that team already has a win against the only team it lost to. I mean we were the only team in the bcs era to split a title......then we were the only team to win a title with 2 losses.......then we were the only bcs team to have to play a rematch in the national title game.......seems like something wild isnt out of the realm of possibility is all.

I thought of this too. Unlikely but possible.

What? I would put it around 75%. Why anyone would think an 11-1 lsu team that split with Florida has no chance is beyond me. Lsu's case would be so much stronger than bama in 2011

Florida kills Florida State, Florida State beats Clemson, we lose close to Bama and then win out, Florida beats Bama in SEC title game. Notre Dame gets a second loss and Pac 12 champs has two losses, all very plausible scenarios. There's a very good chance in that situation the playoff is LSU, Florida, Big Ten winner, Big 12 winner.

Why don't we just win our damn games and stop worrying about this silly situation? It's like yall want us to drop a game. Shut the hell up until it happens

If we do our part, a two loss Alabama and a two loss Florida team aren't making the playoff.

Because we don't play on the team, our speculation has no impact on the outcomes, and that's the point of message boards.

We don't play on the team. We don't affect the outcome. But I do enjoy talking about what ifs, while those "what ifs" are still possible. If you don't enjoy it, ignore the thread.

Not sure if any of this is possible, and I'm too lazy to go through the schedule and scenarios...

2 Loss PAC-12 Champ
2 Loss ACC Champ
1 Loss Memphis

Playoffs:
B1G Champ
Big 12 Champ
Florida
LSU

I think this is how LSU fans should be thinking. Things are lining up for LSU this year. This could be LSU's year. If the passing game keeps developing, it'll be very hard to stop that offense and there don't appear to be any teams that have significant matchup advantages against LSU's defense. From my perspective, unless it's Florida that beats LSU, then LSU needs to just keep winning so that there's no doubt.

If OM wins out, and we only lose to OM, then UF beats OM again in SECCG, we could still go... They may choose us over 2 loss OM team... But that could also pave way for undefeated Memphis squad to get in... This is shaping up like 2007 where a few crazy games the last week or two will cause wild swings in the top 4

Are you guys dumb? At least look at the schedule before making these. Florida can lose to FSU and it'll make your hypo a lot more likely

LSU and Florida would have to be the only 1 loss teams. It's not going to happen.

If we were located in Tuscaloosa, it would be a no brainer. We, however, are located in the wrong state for such "luck" to come our way.

1/9/12, however, does give us precedence.
