So this is the principle issue here?

Yes. Because this was the principle topic of this particular thread.

LSU vs UK basketball in 2014. University was closed, roads were iced over. People were urged to stay inside and off the roads... PLAYED THE GAME ANYWAY.

The conference as well as tv influence from ESPN made us play that game. Playing a football game in a hurricane is a little different than basketball with some icy roads on the way there. Plus we embarrassed the shite out of them so I'm not sure why you'd even gripe and try to compare these two.

If I remember right campus wasn't closed they just canceled classes because of tailgating. Because we had class as usual on Friday even though the other schools around us closed.

I had a test the next morning. Talk about a way to kill the fun of a big SEC home game and the associated festivities.

The amount of dumb that situations like this bring out is astounding. These people are walking among us, folks. Blending in.

Slippery roads do not:
Put out the power grid
Flood
Close roads with downed trees
Damage buildings
Close airports
Force police to rescue residents and tourist
And last more than 24 hours in the Deep South

But other than those....
