Play selection on 1st offensive series will tell it all with BH6

If the 1st offensive series is a 2 TE set with fullback and 1 WR, then that tells you the confidence that Miles has in BH6 and what to expect the whole game unless we get behind early. And if the 1st series ends up with two off tackle runs for naught and a QB draw for naught, followed by a punt, then that is even more compelling on how the game will be played. For once, whether it is AJ or BH, I would like the 1st series to set the tone for the game and come out in the pistol and 4 wide and open the play book at their D.

That's entirely false. The first couple of series will definitely be very conservative. It's his first start EVER, it's against a top 10 rival, and it's an away game.

If you think they are going to come out on the first play tossing the rock around you're delusional. I expect the first series to be similar to his first series against NMSU. Except it will probably lead to a 3 and out instead of a TD. They will slowly ease him into the game the whole 1st quarter if I had to imagine and then open it up a little bit from there.

I'll bet you a few nickels that we come out in the I, 1-TE & 2 WRs and play-action deep over the middle.

I don't agree. It's very possible you will be disappointed in the 1st few series calls as Miles let's Harris settle in and get comfortable with his 1st on the road start in a Hostile environment.

This is incredibly stupid and inaccurate. As much as some of you might hate it, the staff has a philosophy and gameplan, straying from it will get us in trouble.

The only certainty of the first offensive series is that there is no certainty.

Its almost guaranteed that we won't crack open the spread shite until after halftime.

Fournette and Hilliard will be busy this game.

I hope they use this James fella to spread the D sideline to sideline.

Certainly, because a college football team's offensive scheme is that elementary. Pretty much like backyard ball.

I with you in that I think the offense MUST open up a bit if LSU wants any chance at winning this game. That said, I suspect they'll be a bit conservative with Harris to start.

I think LSU will come out in the shotgun on 1st down and handoff to the back. Assuming it only picks up 2-4 yards, I see 2nd down (from under center) being a PA bootleg (to the right) with Dural running a "comeback" route. Dural will be the only viable receiver on the route. If it's covered, Harris will be told to take off and run. Both relatively safe plays.

LSU will avoid the area between the hashes in the passing game like a plague. The direction of the plays will still be the same (runs up the middle and off-tackle, passes outside the hashes) as they were with Jennings. The only difference will be that they will be run more from the shotgun and with a bit quicker tempo.

An interception on the first series would be disastrous in an environment like Jordan-Hare.
