Gilbert is the starter but I might use Hess like Francona used Andrew Miller last year. No reason not to get this kid in the game mid game if need be. 4 games left this year at most, stretch him out to 3 innings if needed. Either way I like our chances today.

Gilbert 4 2/3, Newman 2 1/3, Hess 2. This is my choice of innings pitched give or take 1/3 here or there with a situational guy.

We have the pitching. I wish people would calm tf down. We are going to win this.

TBH these kids could pitch a lot more frequently if they had to. Guys used to throw so much more even 20-25 years ago. Human bodies haven't changed. They won't get hurt by piling it on for one 5 day stretch. It's do or die!

The one difference is that they were used to all that action back then. If you stretch your arm to do things it hasn't done you can easily go down. Now they can stretch them a little like 10 or 20 more pitches if they have it In them and are effective but I'm sure Paul has that mindset himself. If Gilbert has the stuff he ain't coming out until the 8th but that's a big if. I hope he has the game of his life today, it's about time LSU lucks out with a extraordinary pitching performance! It's yalls time boys, let's go take this game!

Paul might want to think about letting ole skip come give one of his great calming speeches. That's what the man was so damn great at, inspiring while loosening the entire team up then they played dominating baseball. LSU wasn't this team head and shoulders above all others every year he won it, they just went and took those games, this is the perfect time to bring the ole Skipper into the pregame locker room to tell it like it is. He's an LSU alum with all those ships, let's use that to our advantage! GT
