Don't give it to them with walks. Let our defense play and make them earn it.

I wouldn't mind seeing Newman take the mound game 1

I just have a hard time trusting Newman right now.

Strall serves up BP volleyballs at times

Peterson has walk issues and isn't as experienced

I think Bain is the guy unless Peterson truly impresses CPM

If Peterson is on he's clearly the best talent available to start with full rest

He's a senior and has been one of our most consistent pitchers the last couple years. One bad outing shouldn't change that. I'll take a veteran that's already pitched in huge games for us, and pitched well.

Agreed no reason to issue walks. A strike thrower can win easy in td ameritrade

I use to love Beck. Still great guy. That's a good point. I wouldn't mind seeing him start. He is prone to give up the long ball lately it seems? Wouldn't be a bad option to start him with full whole staff in mind.

However I believe Bain or Peterson could potentially go deeper longer early on and surprise.

What's Beck's longest outing? I think I'd like to try for another Gilbert performance here with a Peterson or Bain.

Bain would be the most consistent strike thrower IMO with Peterson as your most talented available.

Even Strall when not serving up meatballs is prone to control issues

WTH ever happened with Bain? Injuries? Thought he would have developed into a reliable starter/long relief guy.

Bain impressed me last year but he didn't do much this year. I think he struggled with command early in the season and hasn't seen the field since.
