I feel another undefeated regular season for some reason. Maybe it was the poster on the rant that started a tread about LSU going undefeated. We should all hype this instead of biotching about the QB like we're the only team in the world with an unproven QB.

Big up front, speed and size outside, lock down secondary with better defensive schemes. Ridiculous backs. Many reasons to be optimistic

I dont think this is a ground breaking statement, but the season pretty much hinges on that Auburn game.

Doubtful. Depends on how fast this team gets started. Going to be rough the first month or so. If we get off fast there and win all games, I could see this team getting a ton of confidence moving forward with momentum like that.

I don't think it will happen but it's possible. Way too many question marks for LSU this year. Going to need to get over the major hurdles early like QB consistency, learning a new defense, new DC, lost a lot of talent in key areas, etc. It's some big questions to answer. I think a 3 loss season would be great for this team.

Yeah, I don't know why people saying AU. I'm looking at MSU first. Just having Dak for that team will show you why actually having a decent QB can change the entire team's play. I know they usually are the whipping dogs for us but it is on the road and they do have Dak. LSU could easily go into that game without an identity that early in the season and lose 2 in a row to MSU.

Going to be 2 brutal SEC games with the first 3 games of the season.

We are as loaded as we were in 2011. We are going to the ship. Deal with it.

Based on what?

Pretty stupid to say we're as loaded as we were in 2011. That defense was amazing and this current defense has not shown they're close to the talent lvl that 2011 defense was. We've had a problem in the trenches for several years now and even with Coach O, I don't think it's going to change with the inexperience we'll have playing out there. Going to take Coach O a awhile to get these guys playing up to the DL-U tagline. I have confidence he'll do it just not this year.

DBs while very talented are definitely not what we had in 2011. LBs were the weakness in 2011 but outside MLB I don't think we'll be excellent. Better than 2011 for sure overall but KB has to prove he's better than Minter was which I have no doubt he'll be a beast.

Just thinking about the 2011 our DL was rotation was so good even Edwards who played sparingly was drafted high. Hell, Brooks was even drafted in the 4th round at CB.

Well, good luck with that man. That's some real blind optimism there because we've seen a lot of these guys playing and they don't show anywhere near the flashes of greatness the guys in 2011 showed. The year before that in 2010 you could see plenty of stars in the making like Honey Badger, Big Sam before his injury, Minter developing over the season, etc.

We should have a good defense but that's crazy to say this team would be as good as 2011. Miracles happen I guess and it can...but that's some insane maturity in just a few short months for some guys if it does happen.

Once Godchaux, Beckwith, and Adams were all starting last season, did you know that we held all opponents to either their lowest or second lowest rushing total of the season?

Our entire core of the defense returns, and you throw in one of the nations premiere shutdown corners on the edge, mixing with elite young talent opposite, and I'm telling you this defense is going to be GREAT.
