I think CPM saw that the two lower seeds on our side of the bracket won and we now have a more likely chance of playing on Sunday. In case we do end up in the losers bracket he doesn't want pitch Gilbert or Hess long on Sunday with a regional possibly on Thursday so he's saving Peterson for this situation. He reschedules team meeting; doesn't tell Peterson. Peterson is now suspended. CPM looks good in media as a rule enforcer instead of appearing to overlook weaker teams since lower seeds advanced.
