People say we are young in the OL and then forget it.

Age, maturity, experience, years in the weight room make a difference. Our Fr linemen are competing agent players 3-4 years older who have double diget starts.

Deculus 18 yrs 7 mos
Savage 19 yrs 3 mos
Cushenberry 19 yrs 10 mos

Compare to our own DL

Lacouture 23 yrs 1 mo
Gilmore 22 yrs 11 mo

Lay blame on transfers or recruiting but we can’t suddenly make these players more experienced, more skilled and stronger.

You act like all 3 have started since day 1.

We've had 1 play at a time till a couple games ago.

I wish I could give you more upvotes.
Down the road this valuable current experience is going to pay huge dividends. I hope O is around to reap the harvest of the seeds he's planting now.

Mississippi State and Syracuse are both younger on the OL. Bama has the same amount of youth.*

*before someone jumps on me, this is based on our starting OL at the beginning of the year. We looked pretty bad then too.

Well I'm glad we have someone at the helm who has proven he's the man to fix all of that.

It would be a much stronger excuse if the OLine didn’t look like shite when they have FOUR UPPERCLASSMAN starting ALL of which have been starters at one point or another in their career.

I don’t buy the youth argument and never will. We’ve been young and had depth problems in the past. It’s something you work through with good coaching.

Bottom Line K.J. Malone is a liability at LT and has been since the day he took over that starting roll. Charles besides the false start call played much better and way more physical then Malone. Maybe he can play at guard but he has NO business playing LT in the SEC or any power 5 for that matter.

You still really need Malone or TW to play. Hopefully both obviously. I have confidence that Charles can fill in at tackle if one of them can't go. I would assume if both are questionable, one will at least play.

Well, to be honest, Malone didn't really want to play at all, if I remember correctly.

When you're done, you can compare that to our actual starting O-line from Saturday:
LT - Malone RS Sr
LG - Brumfield RS Jr
C - Clapp RS Jr
RG - Ingram Fr
RT - Weathersby Jr

The O-line is lacking depth, but they haven't been starting a bunch of freshmen. Where does this stuff come from?

KJ Malone was the starting LT for the best OL in college football last year.

Holy shite

From we will compete at elite level to we are pretty good.

I used to read that next year would be our year, now, it's in a couple years we will be really good.

Chill out Karl your son just isn't that good. However I wish him well working for the U.S. Marshals. Hopefully he is better at that.

Will Clapp be healthy enough to play Saturday? I saw the injury report. but didn't see any specifics.

Why did you conveniently leave out the extremely young players we have on the defensive line that get regular playing time? This is a weak sauce argument.

We all need to give trying to make sense of this a rest.

We're either not good with upper classmen at the position we're asking them to play - or not that good (sans Clapp who's out of position), or young. Period.

Why is this so hard for people to understand? It is what it is.

Fight like hell the rest of the year, and don't be a puss.

You don’t have the best OL in college football with a terrible LT. Sorry it destroys the narrative.
