So where are the Tiger tailgaters congregating around Lambeau?

Flying into Chicago. Have an air bnb two blocks from Wrigley. Cubs on Friday and Sunday and driving up to the game and back that night. Obviously, tailgating is going to be minimal but I'd rather spend time in Chicago than Green Bay. Gonna be an epic weekend.

Either Green Bay or Chicago and rent a car

We are flying into Madison Thursday. Great town and only 2.5 hrs from Green Bay. Grew up in Madison so I am looking forward to introducing some LSU friends to the area I left a long time ago
Much better choice than flying into Milwaukee for those who are still trying to their gameplay

When is the last time you made a visit?

If you get the chance, get to some bars along Wells Street in Old Town or Division Street in the Wicker Park area.
To get into Old Town, you can take the Red Line from Addison to Clark/Division and walk or you can Uber. To get to Division, you could take the train, but you're better off just taking an Uber due to time differential.
Wrigleyville is a good time, though Clark can get pretty ratchet at night. It's also relatively far north, so it is a tad difficult to get places (i.e. Wicker, West Loop, River North, Loop) sometimes.

Chicago Midway. Catching the Cubs - Giants game at 1PM. Party that night. Early 31/2 hour drive to Green Bay on game day. Overnight in Madison (where my brother lives who is an LSU undergrad and PhD at Wisconsin). Then golf Sunday at Whistling Straights. Going to be an epic weekend.

From this thread it seems like there's going to be A LOT of LSU fans at Wrigley on Labor Day weekend. Especially if people who don't post here have made plans as well.

Green Bay is pretty dull most days, but on the night before a big game, the atmosphere around the stadium is electric. Bars are packed and it looks like it's pregame with all the flair being sported. I fully expect it to be that way for this one.
Downtown will be fun and is worth checking out, but I expect what is now called the Titletown District to be more jumping. Though our group may hit a supper club, because Sconnie, before going that way to drink.

Damn, that's a solid weekend. All you're missing is a visit to Milwaukee and a stay at a lakehouse in the Northwoods.
Though you will be driving through Milwaukee, so cross that off the list.

Solid article from The Trib.
Generic, but here is a website.

It's a particular type of establishment. The one in GB that we are likely going to hit looks like it was frozen in time. Old school, pretty much everything this NY Times article describes. It's not going to be the best meal you've ever had, but it'll be good, friendly, affordable, and an experience.
Wisconsin's Supper Club Culture
quote:
It helps, perhaps, if you’ve spent the day hiking amid the magnificent birches and pines of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, which extends in a vast patchwork across this lake-studded swath of northern Wisconsin. It also helps to know that a thick slice of prime rib is waiting for you at the end of that drink. You know this because the hostess, dressed in a prim black waitress uniform with white piping, has already appeared alongside you at the bar unbidden, pen poised over order pad, asking what you’d like for dinner and informing you that your table will be ready whenever you happen to be — no sooner, no later. That is how a Saturday night gets started at a proper Wisconsin supper club, a curious genre of old-fashioned fine-dining establishment that is particular to the state and had its heyday in the middle decades of the 20th century. Growing up in Chicago, I spent my summers in Wisconsin, weaned on the iceberg salads, cold relish trays, char-broiled steaks and Friday-night perch dinners that constitute the bill of fare at a typical supper club. I fell in love with these restaurants long before I’d ordered my first cocktail, and for good reason: the food was always tasty — supper clubs were doing custom-cut dry-aged steaks long before the practice became an urban fetish — and the vibe was always pure Wisconsin gemütlichkeit, leavened by a lively mix of locals and vacationing families. Dozens of these restaurants still exist, some having been handed down, generation to generation, and though they have been on the decline in recent years, a combination of nostalgic attachment, new devotees, and a more modern generation of spots — mainly in bigger cities like Madison and Milwaukee — that recalls their charms have sustained the tradition. Don’t let the term “club” mislead you: these open-to-all restaurants are about as welcoming as it gets. The term is a holdover from the Prohibition era, when all-in-one establishments offering dinner, drinks and dancing got their start in Wisconsin. The dancing component is mostly gone, but good supper clubs have fine-tuned the rituals of dining and drinking to near perfection.

Random question for you or any fans familiar with Lambeau: if I have a ticket in section 700, would I be able to get to section 107? Can I enter the same gate?

Yes, they don't force you to enter specific gates. The Oneida Nation gate on the east side is always the most backed up because that's where all the big parking lot tailgates are filtering in from and also where all the people from the bars on Holmgren Way are coming from.

Gotcha thanks. We have a group of 5 and 4 tickets are together in the 100s. Trying to get another somewhere and just squeeze together in the 100 level seats.
Posted on 7/13/16 at 1:17 pm to The Truth 34
Doable, assuming the row isn't packed, as they don't have ushers checking stubs at the top of sections. Given that it's bench seating, the guy on the end might be getting forced into the aisle. That can definitely happen at winter games I've been to, but people are obviously layered up for those.

As an aside, not a Packer game, which I strongly suggest everyone take in at least once in their life, but visiting fans generally love it up there.
