That's awesome! Keeping him, your mom, you and your brothers in my prayers. Looking forward to seeing Ricky back on the highlight reel at the box soon!

Awesome gesture from Coach Mainieri. Hope your dad makes a speedy recovery and is able to get back in the deer stand and drop him a big buck

Ignore the ignorance of that poster. He is trying to be cool, not worth it.

Wishing a speedy and full recovery for your dad. Thanks for sharing your story. Paul M. Is a class act. Saw him at the NCAA basketball regionals at the super dome the year after they won the CWS, shook his hand and had a brief conversation. Nice guy! Again hope your dad recovers fully!

I'm hoping he means he's a good family man, loves the outdoors, and loves LSU baseball by "livingston parish at his best"
Cuz that's what I think of when I think about your dad.
Plus the rabbit hunts in cutoff.
I've already wished the best of luck on FB, but came here and saw this. So hats off to PM, and hats off to Big Rick - we've got some beer to drink at the box this year.

No harm meant. I'm a LP man myself. Just wanted others to know that we were proud to claim him as one of our hometown good guys.

This does not surprise me. Paul Manieri has always been a class act. His players are the same with the fans. I think this is great that he visited your dad. My thoughts and prayers are with your dad for a speedy recovery, so he can be back out at the ballpark soon.

Absolutely. He spent 11 days in the hospital. Last week he got moved to BR Rehab off of Essen. He'll be there indefinitely while he learns to walk and use his hands again. They're doing 3-4 hours of rehab with him 6 days a week. Right now some very simple things but it's exhausting for him. We're still praying that he gets a little better everyday and will walk out of that place when all is said and done. He remains in good spirits mostly but some days are harder than others, mentally and physically.

Also, through tailgating and going to games, Dad has become good friends with Collin Strall's parents. Well Collin and his girlfriend showed up one Saturday to visit Dad and brought him the first 2017 team calendar poster with the whole team's signatures as well as a card with an awesome message on it.
