I may have missed this conversation on here but does anyone else feel like the roping and parking decisions have had a very negative effect on tailgating and traffic post game?

You used to be able to park along Nicholson dr and this would help with setting up tailgates and tents near the old front nine and north from there. They have rope this off and what I noticed is that the overall tailgating scene for this type of atmosphere and game was noticeably impacted. I don't know if these folks just moved to another location but it was very noticeable compared to previous years.

Is anyone noticing the same thing? What was the driver for this policy?

It is because of contraflow. If they had card parked faing in to the stafium it would be more of a cluster when leaving if the traffic is goin the other way.

U can still drop off tailgate stuff there. Just have to move your car.

I understand that you can temporarily drop and pick up stuff from there, but it's obvious that people haven't been doing that so far this season. The tailgating capacity has dropped off dramatically since historical.

It's not like it used to be 3-4 years ago on dalyrymple.
Solely because of the parking changes.

Parade Ground / Tower Drive area has been negatively impacted. Paid $40 and couldn't find a parking spot at 7:45 AM. we've never had that problem before, even for the biggest of games in past. Season parking has reduced game by game parking to a negligible level.

I park in one of the lots around alex box and I really miss seeing the tailgates set up along nicholson...

the LSU hurst tailgate was one of the coolest things that I liked to show visitors to the games and it pisses me off that it is gone...

seems to me that the traffic is about the same as it has been in years past....

You are right. Blocking off Nicholson didn't do anything to help with the contraflow or traffic. It's is just stupid that they don't let us park along the street. I guess they want us to pay.

It's more of a safety issue, if you have cars parked along the side of the road, emergency vehicles can't get through or around traffic if there was an emergency

It's also had a negative affect on the RV lots. It's too difficult to find a parking place for friends and family on campus. Not near the RV's coming out either. They have roped off over half the parking along Gourrier and Walk On's went from $20 to $40 on their parking.

Yep, I'm sure people will adjust and they'll forget what it used to be like. But for right now, it's going in the opposite direction in terms of making it a fan-friendly gameday experience. It's stuff like that that forces fans to stay at home and watch from their comfortable couch and cheap beer.

Yes it's had a significant effect. I doubt LSU cares though.
