What are the masses doing for game day parking? Asking for a friend.

I know some will say take the metrorail in, but I remember them looking like a clown car 2 years ago before the Wisconsin game. We tried to get on in midtown and there was literally no room in the trains.
We did Uber it there, though. The price wasn't bad before the game. After the game we took the train to get back to the vehicles.

It's a city/metro area of 6 mil. Go early! This ain't Baton Rouge!! Although I spent last weekend in BR and the traffic issues there are worse that Houston. Geeze!!

The train is a complete dumpster fire after the game. Avoid it as your main transportation at all costs. I'm not joking.

What are the best available hotels LSU fans are booking?

i'm hoping it won't be nearly as bad this time around. BYU shouldn't bring as many people as Wisconsin did. that should help some.

Metro is fine on the way in, but after the Wisc game the line to get back on and get out of there was miles long and full of obnoxious drunks. Never again.

We're staying at Spring Hill Suites Medical Center. It's about a half-mile from NRG, so we'll be walking.

I would take the rail, but if you have to drive there is free parking around the Mike Calvert Toyota dealership. Interchange Drive | Kirby Drive | Odom Blvd. I parked there for the Wis. game.

BYU will have more fans than Wisconsin did in 2014, but most of those will be Texas Mormons.
Do NOT take the train after the game. In 2014, we took the train from downtown to the game. Afterwards, when I saw the utter chaos at the station, we found a cab and get back downtown easily.

My dad and I took metro no problem to Wisconsin game, leaving on the other hand was an absolute nightmare there were thousands of people lined up for a metro that could hold maybe 100 and it ran like every 15 minutes. We ended up walking like 5 miles back to midtown. I would suggest booking an cab for after the game or driving and paying to park.

I got a parking pass three years ago and this year. Had no problems getting in or out back then.

I went ahead and spent the money on a parking pass.

Same here.. there are 3 Marriott properties within walking distance of NRG.. i originally had rooms booked at the new Marriott Marquis downtown, but when i was reminded how much of a nightmare it was getting back downtown after the Wisky game and the bowl game last yr, i canceled and booked at one of the Marriotts (either Springhill or Courtyard, cant remember) within a 15-20 min walk from the stadium.

And dont forget, the BYU game wont end til about 1am Sunday morning... taking the rail (if you can get on it) will prob get you back downtown at 2 or 3am if youre lucky... also, Uber surge after the bowl game in Houston last yr was 5x normal... best solution IMO is either staying within walking distance, getting a cab if you can find one or getting a parking pass but i cant imagine that driving yourself out after the game will be a picnic.

They didn't come close to selling their allotment. In fact, you can find a boatload of really good tickets in their sections.
Don't think they bringing many fans.

Parking actually flows pretty well. Nothing like the contraflow disasters after our home games.
