Pap has to be the catcher

I know he can't hit, and the defense hasn't been top notch this season so far, however he's our best defensive catcher. Keeping runners from stealing is massive in a close game (we saw last night). He is our best option defensively right now.
Until we get Romero or Coomes really really stroking (assuming they have someone hitting well in the DH role and they can't go there) Pap needs to catch.
I know a lot of you don't want to hear this, but if nobody is going to hit great, it has to be him catching.

coomes just needs more games. Pap has showed us what he can do and it's not a lot.

No thank you. I've seen three seasons of barely average play from him. I'd rather take a chance on an unknown than some guy who really isn't very good. His glove is so overrated and it shows.

I'm upset I only have one down vote to give.
Pap has had 3 years to figure his shite out and he hasn't done so yet. So to have an automatic out in the lineup because his defense is a smidge better than Coomes is inexcusable to anyone except CPM.

You'd rather a catcher who doesn't throw anybody out (even on a pitch out today), but will hit one run in a weekend over someone who will keep people from stealing bases, but also not hit great.

Never said he wasn't. Defense > offense from a catcher.
Based off of last night and today's game, Pap would have been more beneficial playing defense for us and keeping them from stealing.
I have been against Pap playing recently because his defense was lacking. But watching passed balls today, and UF running wild....Pap would be better suited right now.

How did he exactly steal a base off Kiel on a pitch out, when Kiel wasn't even pitching?

Pretty sure it was Kiel, but whatever. Towards the end of the game, runners were stealing bases off the pitchers. Pap has not been that solid behind the plate to be the everyday starter. I bet Coomes would be better if him and Pap switched the amount of games they start

Pap sucks. I'm completely done with him. Give Coomes all the reps and let him run with the catcher position.

Today, Game 3, he really flubbed up his first 3 put out attempts at second base. The 4th one he did get but he got lucky on that one, too. He had a hitch in his throw that made the throw slower than it should have been. I'll take Coomes.
