Overreaction by a lot of people on this board - wake up

I think it is pretty clear to see what Coach O is doing. He is in his first year of his contract so unless he goes Zero wins in SEC play and 3-9 or worse overall to see him fired this year. And no matter how bad we looked on Saturday, MSU is much better than people think! That had a lot to do with what happened on Saturday, MSU is a strong team that has a 10 win season ahead of it.
Look Coach O knows he isn't getting fired this year because worst he will do is 6-6 "which would put him on the hot seat." And he knows that his rope is probably shorter than most other first-year HC's, so he damn well better make sure the "fireable years" years 2 thru the end of the contract had better be really good teams. By playing all these freshmen I think he is saying I will take the hit this year so that my young guys are seasoned next year and more importantly their junior year which is his 3rd year on the contract which is the more fireable year than years 1 & 2.
So I truly believe Coach O is actually looking past this year and trying to make sure he can make runs in years 2 - 4 of the contract.

He needs to stop the attrition we saw in offseason and find away to close out the next recruiting class. Not just for rankings, but in some spots that badly need quality depth. Primarily both O and D lines. We have to get better in the trenches

If a 6-6 season doesn't get him fired after winning 6 games as an interim coach last year and considering it's been almost 20 years since we would have had a season that bad, then Alleva will be fired..
Hmm....maybe a 6-6 season sounds pretty good right about now.
