Coach O will be the next HC at LSU and will be here for a very long time. Born on the bayou and well deserving. This is his dream job and will bring in top notch coaches on both sides of the ball. Hell of a recruiter and will pour his heart and soul into this job. No more missing out and losing in state talent to out of state schools. I'm sure he clearly understands he has to bring in a high profile OC to correct the offense and develop a QB. He is the man for the job.

if he goes 6-2 down the stretch, i say sign him up full-time.

5-3 won't cut it.

Is he though?

Even if he is, is he the most deserving? This search should be about getting the best guy for the job, not just someone who is marginally qualified.

OLE Miss was a disaster before he got there and he did recruit very well while he was there. Now not sure about him at LSU but he probably learned a lot from the OLE miss gig. He did a good job at USC.

He won't be what we need as a head coach, but he will be the coach next year. I'm not sure why guys are throwing around Herman or jimbo. O will be the coach next year.

If 7-1 includes beating Bama, I am on board. If not, no

Love O, but would rather him be DL coach & lead recruiter for the next coach.

Win the sec, then we can talk. No way I'd take him over Herman though

O will not be the HC. He would need to go undefeated.

Not happening folks. They will go after established, winning HCs.

the success of a head coach depends on his coordinators

Bobby Bowden was very successful by letting his coaches coach. I like Herman too, but he wants the Ohio State job and is not leaving Houston if they move to a bigger conference. Houston can pay any amount to keep him.

Unless Coach O puts together a stellar run and somehow gets the team into a substantial postseason bowl, he will not be around to coach next year.

There are three "candidates" that could bring the Tigers to the next quantum leap: Kevin Sumlin, David Shaw, and Charlie Strong. If the program can somehow land one of these, you're talking about greatness.
