The wait is finally over, hearing Anthony Johnson take leadership role over the DLine, having Jermauria Rasco talk about how it feels to start for LSU makes it way to hard to wait for september to roll bye. 6 1/2 months left to see these 2 start a new dynasty

Freak seems genuinely impressed with the offense thus far.

We no doubt have the talent but we have to see how they'll translate.

Hunter
Freak
Ego
Rasco

So true sophomore Mingo and redshirt sophomore Montgomery on the ends didn't make up one of the greatest d lines ever at LSU 2 years ago?! So your saying it can't happen again RAT??

I honestly think Freak, hunter, rasco and ego will be better than montgomery, mingo, logan and josh downs

Has this been confirmed or is it just because the Rant loves the way this guy looks in a still photo? Didn't he get destroyed by a TE in the Big Cat the other day?

Things are too different now than they were before '11. Who knows how they'll play, but recall before '11:
- Sam (RS soph) had only played in about 4 games in '10
- Mingo (RS soph) was a role player
- Bennie (RS So) and Brockers (RS So) were essentially first year starters

true sophomore Mingo

He redshirted his freshmen year.

This is college football where teams lose key players and then rebuild. LSU does this as well as any program. I have full faith the defense will be elite.

Only thing that concerns me is defensive tackle depth. Is Quentin Thomas & Mickey Johnson ready for prime time.....I hope so.

One or more of the true freshman will be counted on for DT depth. Hope someone steps up and has the strength to succeed in their first year.

Can't wait for the season to get here.

LOL, how much did sam and mingo play before 2011? well sam played a few games, and mingo played as much as rasco has. So Danielle has already played more than montgomery at the same stages in their career. Mingo played 13 games in 2010, rasco played in 9 in 2011, not sure ho wmany he played in this year.

Also Allen would have played a lot last year if he didnt get hurt.

When will you guys realize we just reload on defense.

I second this. Hunter and Rasco may be more complete at DE than Mingo IMO. What I mean is they may be better against the run than Mingo as well as getting pressure on the QB.

Bout the same time you realize that our corners aren't on par with the talent we had those years and we don't have a Heisman finalist blitzing off the edge either.

And again, lack of depth may be a problem. Carry on.

You can't even come close to this conclusion. What a pompous remark.

There's a lot of talent; just needs the chemistry.

What helps make a D special is if it can become dominamt in at least one facet of the game. For example, in '11 Bennie and Brockers really clogged things up in the middle. They were dominant. This allows Chief to try things, i.e., less vanilla.
