I guess maybe it's because most interim coaches are for like 1 or 2 games. And I know Coach O is technically the head coach of LSU football and is free to implement policy surrounding his team.

But does it strike anyone else as odd that an interim coach is making tweaks to things like gameday traditions?

Taking over and simply changing the offensive philosophy isn't enough for him to get a permanent gig as the HC at LSU. He has to do everything within his power to distinguish himself from Miles.

I know Coach O is awesome, but make no mistake, he's doing everything he can to put his stamp on the next 8 games as his doing and his alone. He'll go above and beyond his normal craziness to make that mark.

Not surprising that he's doing this- He's coached at both USC and Miami, who have made it a priority to involved former players.

No, this is the sort thing O does. He's just trying to get some energy flowing.

This is badass. I would love to see my father walk down Victory Hill.

I'll be pissed if your father gets in the way of my selfie with Fournette.

And a lot of people want to know why many LSU fans wouldnt have a problem with him as HC if he has success this year.

I'd be cool with retaining him if he has success to close out the year AND we bring in new blood to run the offense. That said, I so far really like all of the "changes" he's made, material or otherwise.

We are getting our Swagger back

If we are up a few touchdowns I think we should get a few excessive celebrations

Y'all are bound and determined to be cynical. The man is doing everything he can to promote our program, pique interest, and foster unity and enthusiasm.

I'm just glad somebody is being proactive for once instead of sitting around with their thumb up their azz.

I've said this since Sunday, Coach O will have the players playing hard. They will play with energy. He is a motivator no doubt. Hopefully the difference here, as opposed to Ole Miss and his 8 games at USC (6-2 by the way) is that he has a super staff and an uber-talented team. If they play hard and the coaches put them in the right places there could be a major turnaround very quickly.

What Coach O is working on right now that I didn't initially think about is getting the fan base energized again. I knew there would be an initial bump of excitement, but Bebe is also going all out to motivate the fans. By the comments on this board he seems to be doing a good job of that.

I'm sure there's a provisio about former players who would be on the staffs of other programs for said practice.

Otherwise, every SEC West school and everyone else on our schedule will stick an ex-LSU player on their staff, even if it is just something like "administrative waterboy" or something.

i'm sure the old regime didn't want their gameplan and strategy to be leaked, which is why practice was so tightly guarded.

oh what the heck,

Dat boy from down the road in Louisiana. He can change whatever he wants.
I'm full blown pro Ed at this point. Let's keep it in the state!!

I would even be okay with continued mediocrity if it was at least fun with a good old boy running the show.
