It's amazing to me that a coach can work over an AD in contract negotiation when that coach has basically no leverage. Pretty much says it all about Alleva.

Hypothetically if Alleva told O that the buyout is too high given his resume and risk and that they will never give him that high of a buyout.

What does O do? Does he tell O to frick off and find another HC gig?

Of course he doesn't because he doesn't have any other fricking option

More and more, Orgeron sounds like a grifter and con man than a coach...

More importantly it shows his priorities. He was more concerned with how he will make money in case he performs like he did at ole Miss than he is worried about the money he'll make for being successful

Signs of a guy who knew he didn't have a fricking chance at being good at this job

Alleva is the one who can fire O so why is he negotiating out his own power against someone with no leverage?

Detillier stated Orgeron did not care what his salary was but he wanted a significant buyout due to lessons he learned at USC

Lessons learned at USC. Lane had no buyout? Lmao. My money is on O knew he would be done sooner than later.

He knew the fan base.
He knew that Miles lovers and those pulling for other coaches would not be fair....

I would have done the same.
Whether he succeeds or not, that will buy him some time.

you have obviously not been reading the posts...

Miles lovers and those who did not want Coach O are using every opportunity they can to destroy him. The level of the attacks and the lack of commentary towards the primary gate keepers i.e. Aranda and Canada is a good indication.

Unfortunately LSU will pay a price as the news media and other recruiters will use all of it as ammunition.

Holy frick. I can't believe there's someone as delusional as you are right now.

Could it POSSIBLY be that we just lost to troy and our head coach has no idea what the frick he's doing out there be why he's getting heat? Les Miles has absolutely nothing to do with Coach Os ineptness.

You want to blame the coordinators now instead of the head coach, did you do the same for Miles?

I supported O for the hire after Fisher was no longer an option. I thought he was going to do very well.

I'm pretty much 100% done with him and it's not even totally the play on the field. He talks out of both sides of his mouth and he has publicly shifted blame to players and other coaches.

It makes me sick to my stomach that I ever supported him.

What do you have to say about that? How do I fit your narrative?

Each day that passes, the angrier and angrier I become. O and Alleva are brainless idiots who happen to be robbing the LSU players and fans of success. They are grade A scumbags. frick them both.

Good post, and it's sadly true. It's why we won't fire Orgeron, at least not soon. Alleva ain't gonna admit to his mistakes. He's too much of a slime bucket.

I'm as anti-Zero as it gets, but I understand why he would approach the negotiations the way he did. OM promised to give him the full four years to implement his program, then fired him after three. He watched Nutt go 9-4 with his recruits, and he most likely believes he would have had the same record. It's delusional, but he believes it.

Other reason he was so worried about the buyout is he just saw us fire Miles. So the bar is very, very high.

He had zero leverage. Zero.

You hand him a contract and say take it or get fricked, you binder-totin' unqualified failure.

And with all that being said, he still had zero leverage.

Sure, maybe he could've gotten another D-line position somewhere. But we still have Pete Jenkins now, so it's not like he'd have been any great loss.
