Doubt that happens. They probably already have the field filled for next year.

Thoroughly enjoyed it; plus, it was in Minute Maid Park so that was especially cool.

Seating was great as well.

I don't know. I thought that's what they said. I thought it sounded weird when I heard it.

I don't really have any complaints or glowing reviews. It was three baseball games against quality teams for $12 a game. Not much of a production at all really which is fine with me. My only minor complaint would be that a thousand LSU fans were trying to get into the stadium 5 minutes before the game Saturday because they didn't have enough entry points open but, like I said, not much production which I guess you have to expect for $12 a day.

The Astros also announced the field for the 2016 Houston College Classic, which will feature both the University of Houston and Rice, along with Arkansas, Louisiana-Lafayette, TCU and Texas Tech. The 16th annual tournament will feature nine games at Minute Maid Park from Feb. 26-28, 2016.

Only having one door open to enter MMP was BS, but not too bad

Diamond Club men's room did not have a baby changing station. Not a big deal, but I had to change my 9 month old on the floor (clean floor, but still floor).

ETA: no wait for food , drinks, or bathroom in the Diamond Club.

I didn't go but this gives us good experience the weekend before SEC play. We need this every year.

I went to Sunday's game and had a blast! I parked in the Diamond Lot, sat in the Diamond Club, it was great.

This was the first LSU Baseball game I've attended since the 2009 CWS. I've been amazed for years why LSU was never invited to the Houston College Classic. It's only four hours away and the people who put on this event now know that LSU fans will show up in droves; I wasn't there for Friday but I heard that Tiger fans outnumbered Cougar fans 4 to 1.

The majority of the LSU fans I spoke with Sunday lived in the Houston area. I'm amazed at what a big fan base LSU has in Houston. We do have a radio affiliate there for football, KILT 610AM.

I hope LSU gets invited to the HCC every other year, just like UH, Rice, UT and A&M.

Yeah the Astros organization announces the field two years in advance. The 'Stros website revealed LSU would be in the HCC back in February 2013. I think the 2017 field is already set.

ETA: per The Advocate:

Return trip

LSU may return to the Houston College Classic in 2017.

Mainieri said he may try to swap a previously scheduled nonconference series in the season’s opening month so the Tigers can make a return trip to an event that drew thousands of purple-clad fans.

The attendance for the first two days of the event was more than 26,000. That’s more than the entire three-day event got the past four years.

“It’s a great experience here,” Mainieri said. “Fan support, stadium, competition — everything about it is a neat thing. I like to go to a tournament one time before I make any other commitments. It was a well-run tournament. I think everybody had a good time.”

Mainieri has much of LSU’s future schedules already set, including a home-and-home three-game series against Texas for 2018 in Baton Rouge and 2019 in Austin.

LSU’s preconference non-SEC schedule is set for 2016 and 2017. The Tigers host Cincinnati, Sacramento State, Fordham and Ball State in 2016. They host Air Force, Maryland, Hawaii and Wichita State in 2017.

Absolutely loved it. Stayed at Hilton Americas, which was very convenient. Plenty restaurants nearby and downtown Houston was nice. LSU was VERY well represented. Looking forward to doing it again in 2017!!

I went Saturday. I love that stadium as there isn't a bad seat in the house and it's relatively clean for a large stadium. It was freaking freezing on Saturday buy my buddies and I enjoyed ourselves

From what CPM was quoted as saying in this morning's Advocate, he wanted to see how the tourney was run before making any further commitments. Now that he was impressed, he's working on making some schedule changes next year to see if he can work out a return trip. He was quoted as saying he likes to play one OC tourney before the SEC starts but has Texas coming to the Box next yr, LSU to Texas the following year. He did say on the telecast that the players were smiling as soon as they stepped on the field to practice opening nite. To quote Mr. Joe Aleva: it was a win win for all concerned.

There on Saturday. Slow getting into the stadium but nothing else to whine about. It was cool but we knew that in advance. Great time. As long as the Tigers win, I'm good.

Seemed like there was 4:1 (or even higher) Tiger to Bear fans.

Saturday was the warmest day and the roof was open. Surprisingly, Sunday was coldest followed by Friday night. Roof was closed for both of those games.

Because they had a couple of the big windows in the outfield open.

I was also surprised that Minute Maid restrooms, unlike Alex Box, had a long row of prison urinals with no privacy dividers.

A few times I was uncomfortably shoulder to shoulder.
