Us rantards have said all year we need to open up passing game. Guess our coaches dont read the rant after all!

And it's a good thing they don't, because their offensive game plan worked so well.

Fournette was gaining a yard per rush, so our 3rd down playcalling was going to be a disaster.

Hell, Tennessee did it just last week....if they had our talent they would have won

He actually completed 8 out of 19 passes. 2 of his 8 completions were to Alabama and his offensive lineman. 1/4 of completions. By all means les should listen to the rant and throw more! Lol

I think it's valid criticism that Les and the offensive staff should have thrown a little more with how little the running game was working. What needed to be done were shorter routes that would be easier to complete and could back the defense off of the LOS some. They were bringing safeties up close for run support and disguising it very well and LSU had no answer. Why didn't the staff try to use WR screens, quick slants, or screen passes that would counter some of this aggressiveness? The deep routes were tough to get completed because of the complete lack of protection from the OL.

When your QB can't finish his drop backs before having to avoid the pressure you have more to worry about that opening up the passing game.

Nah, lets just keep running right at Bama's strength and hope for the best seems to be the philosophy!

So if we cannot pass and the opponent won't let us run up the middle, what are we left with for an offensive game plan? We don't throw slants or seam routes to the TEs. We don't throw many screens or WR bubble screens. If fact, we don't throw to the middle of the field at all.

Sure, but why does Les emphasize the deep passing game so much? It's great when it works and the line gives time, but Saturday the line would not allow enough protection to complete these with regularity. The sensible decision would have been to attempt to make some higher percentage short throws to back the defense off.

He skipped a ball to the t.e. He did hit smith once on a seam route. He misses lf7 on short across the middle. Next.

19

We didn't rush the ball very well, either. We need to start focusing on Arkansas - seriously, you guys.

Yep, aTm slung it around. That worked so much better. 5 pick sixes!

Bama defense IS THAT GOOD.
