One More Year??

To be honest, I actually would be ok with whatever decision is made.

If CLM gets one more year, I'm ok. Why? Because truthfully, I felt all along that me may have been a year ahead of schedule on winning a championship this year. I was optimistic as was everyone in here, but knew that 1. we had to beat the gumps in B-D Stadium and 2. it would be Brandon Harris' first start there, not a great recipe for success. Next year would make the 2014 class (Fournette, Harris, Dupre, Adams, Godchaux) juniors and this year's class (Key, Teuhema, Guice, Jackson, Johnson) sophomores, AND Bama comes to us. I EXPECT to win a SEC (if not more) title and would have no problem with the AD letting CLM know that he will need to in order to keep his job.

That said, if it is time for him to go now, I am ok with that also. The talent between us and Bama is almost identical. In fact, don't we have more guys in the NFL?? The game usually comes down to execution and discipline. We have LITERALLY given Bama the last 2 in our stadium, and I'm not sure we wouldn't do it again. Plus, it's not just the Bama losses - there's no shame in losing to them, but to lose to clearly inferior teams - Ole Miss, Arky, Notre Dame last year, Clemson 2 years ago - is what bothers me. And while the players should and probably will grow, growth at the top is also necessary for us to improve.

I say all that to say this - let's support administration and the young men in whatever decision is made, and look forward to a better 2016, regardless of who is coaching. BUT...if we do not retain CLM, we definitely better have a really good candidate in mind.
