What time does everyone start tailgating there? What time should I get there to avoid traffic?

Early man. Like 8 or 9 o'clock. They don't party as hard as we do but they are pretty dedicated like we are and their traffic is just as bad

Maybe with LSU fans. The Grove won't fill until around 11. Ole Miss does not get out early to tailgate like fans do at LSU.

they start tailgating about 3 hours before kickoff (or sooner) . at least you have to drop your stuff off at your tent by that time. i plan on getting there by 11 am, lots of tailgaters already there by then. you should be fine if you get there before 11 am as far as traffic goes (i hope). traffic will be pretty bad once you get to oxford.

Sounds like Knoxville. Back in 2001 LSU fans were out in full force. Vols fans showed up 2 hours before kickoff.

You're right. What do I know about the Grove?

Keep it out of sight (don't have a handle of whiskey or a case of beer just sitting out on the table) and drink out of a solo cup, and you'll be fine

I've never had issues with liquor out there. Definitely have to keep cases of beer more or less out of view though.

Do PUT your drinks in SOLO cups. They do police the open cans/bottles.

Have fun and yell hard!!

Ole Miss tailgating scene strives to be a much more formal affair than you see at LSU...alcohol is ok, but if you flaunt it or act like a dumbass, you will find yourself talking to police officers with quickness...

act like an adult, and you will not have problems...

one thing to know is that your ice chests need to be locked while you are away from them...they are pretty strict on this and will take your shite if they find alcohol unattended, even if it is in an ice chest.

Get there early, because they close the road around the grove 3-4 hours before the game, if you want to drop anything off.

So it has to be in a solo cup? It can't be in a regular cup?

It doesn't matter what kind of cup it's in.

You can walk around with a liquor bottle, but if you have beer, make sure it's in a cup. Even if you have a case of beer in a bag, if it's visible they're going to make you throw it away.
