Oh, Please Nic!!! You sound like such a tough disciplinarian with this decision...

and sending a message that you are so tough on player conduct! But, then we find out players with DUI's and those with trunk full of drugs and stolen handguns are given a pass because they are needed and are starters! Yet, you dismiss a "walk on" because of behavior which won't be tolerated!

This guy is dispensable, and that is exactly why you did it!

This is a weakly veiled attempt to show you give a damn about ethical behavior!! What a joke!

Or a completely genius way of keeping prying eyes out of the program. I hate that man with a passion, but the dude is a very successful coach.

You center punched the issue. The Monroe incident says all that needs to be said about Nick's brand of discipline.
Very suspicious that the DA there refused to prosecute because the two criminals were sweating in the heat while all the rest of us were in the AC.
That dude was pretty tough on a whole bunch of other folks during his career. But they didn't play for Bama so .....Nick saw fit to minimally "punish" them.
Nothing to see there!

It would be epic for a reporter to question Saban about the disparate treatment of starters and walkons after they are arrested.

We can only wonder what effect Ryan Perriloux in 2008 / 2009 and Tyrann Mathieu in 2012 would have had if Miles had the same approach. Granted, in the long run Miles may have done more for the players future lives at the expense of their possible contributions to team success.

Of course their lives could have become more of a downward spiral with very harsh consequences for them personally and the state of the program.

Jeez stop the jealousy please. Saban could suspend 5 starters and not a damn thing will change because they are the definition of next man up.

Anything to win.

What happened last year in Lousiana was shameful all the around.
Starting with DA from ouachita Parish.

You sir, completely miss the point of the op’s post. I also believe that you would pay $5 to open mouth, tongue kiss Nick Saban’s butthole if ever given the chance.

Maybe Saban believes in the 2nd amendment. Any law requiring gun registration is an infringement on gun ownership, and thus violates the 2nd amendment to the US constitution.

IIRC, the firearm in question was stolen, not unregistered.

But DJ Pettway gets allowed back after being dismissed from school for beating and robbing a fellow student.
DL needed depth that year.

Can't blame Saban though. His job is to win football games, not establish morality.

If you want to place blame anywhere, blame yourself (and myself), who just can't stop obsessing over this stupid, corrupt spectacle that is college football.

Exactly, pandering to star athletes is what leads to the idiotic, prima donna behavior we see in the pros.
