I doubt that this young man is coming to LSu to be a backup. This tells me that the staff still has concerns about Jennings and Harris, and this guy might be the answer until Franks or whoever is ready.

If he's talking about QBs leaving, or changing their stance on NSD, he is right. Randall, Rivers, Rettig, Z Lee, Garrett, Bolden, Keil, Hatch, and that's been in the last 6 years.

I don't get that at all. The guy has talent. Why not add another QB who can hopefully push the others and add quality depth?

Compared to Jennings he looks like Joe Mantegna . . . er . . . Montana

Really? Against the likes of Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Southern Illinois, Iowa and ND, he averaged a "very impressive" 4.9 ypa and 5 ints. I hear the same nonsense about Hackenberg as to why he sucked last year. Having a bad OL doesn't make you complete 4.9 ypa against crappy arse teams. It also doesn't make you throw 5 ints against said crappy arse teams. For a guy that started 8 games prior to 2014 (compared to Jennings's one), he played even worse.

But he does look closer to Joe Montana than Jennings in one way and that's very important to some people.

Boy are we desperate for a QB. The Miles era of struggling QBs looks to continue with no end in sight. I have a feeling Miles is the problem with how our QB development has gone and the only way it will ever be fixed is when he's gone. Just going to have to accept mediocre QB play with good defense and a great power run game under him. We've went through a plethora of OCs it feels like and the only consistency to the struggling QBs is Miles. Something ain't right especially if Cam freaking Cameron can't develop one...

And Perilloux, JJ, and Lee, Jennings, and probably Harris before it's over...

Evaluation and coaching have a lot to do with it.

Well at least in 2014 he threw for 800 yards in 5 games that's a 100 more per game than we have done as of late.

Some of it bad luck, some poor evaluation.

Mostly it was the lack of development.

Sure as hell can't hurt. With the exception of Mett, the rest really haven't been that impressive. We need someone who can learn the playbook, gain the respect of the team, stay out of jail, manage the game, and lead the team. Mauck and Flynn weren't flashy QB's, but they could manage the game and lead the team.

Thankfully we have the tards to professionally analyze the QB situation.....lol.....certainly we couldn't expect Cam to do this all by his lonesome...lol...man, are we lucky!

But you have to look at the whole picture. Sure 800 yards in 5 games is great, but a sub .500 / 2-3 record and 5 interceptions kills those stats. INT's = points for the other team, hence the 2-3 record. Plus, put him against SEC Defense's (Bama, Arkansas, Georgia and Ole Miss) and those stats drop like a rock. The Big 10 overall is a weak conference, the 2 wins came against Western Michigan and Southern Illinois with 0 INT's. The 3 losses were against Central Michigan, Notre Dame and Iowa with a total of 5 INT's. Unless Cam can help him improve tremendously, he will remain a 3rd or 4th string QB at LSU.

The dude has he tools to be a good college quarterback in the right situation. I think he will compete for the starting job next year. Do I think he is mettenburger no but he took an awful Purdue football team and put up better stats than AJ with a lot less talent. I think he has a chance to be a very good game manager for us.
