Dream scenario. LSU beats Houston in Super Regional. Stony Brook beats aTm in Super Regional.

LSU beat stony brook on the way to NC #7.

Demons of the past exorcised.

I also think that the brand name is not the reason but I can see why people are thinking of that.
Any other year I would have Texas at number 4. I have Texas as my last number 3 now.

How does the bracket work with when the teams get to Omaha? #1 side play Sunday and #2 side plays Saturday?

TV will determine that after the Super Regionals.

Yeah that would have been ridiculous. They need to move that start time up but of course we know who's determining that.

Yeah, if we HAD to lose a game, that would've been a pretty good choice. Better to go home and get more rest for the real tournament than have to deal with hours of delays.

As "easy" as our road to Omaha looks, there is no such thing.

I apologize, it was my fault. My wish before the week was that LSU won the first 2 games and lost the single elimination Saturday game. Get all three starters their work (well, that didn't exactly happen), win 2 out of 3 so we played well, and then get back home without taxing ourselves too much. The way it played out with the 10:00 PM championship game worked out nicely to not be there.

I knew going in that the SEC tournament really didn't matter to us from a seeding perspective, since we had a national seed locked up. I still want to win during the game, but after the UF loss, I wasn't that upset. All the delays on Sunday made me feel a lot better about us not being there as well.

My thoughts exactly.

2 seed UNC Wilmington

NCAA RPI: 36
How they got here: Won CAA tournament (would have been an at-large)
Record (conference record/finish): 39-16 (18-6, 2nd in CAA)
Number to know: .306 – UNC Wilmington’s batting average, which ranks 11th nationally

3 seed Tulane

NCAA RPI: 42
How they got here: At-large bid.
Record (conference record/finish): 34-23 (14-12, 3rd in AAC)
Number to know: 3.13 – Tulane’s team ERA, which ranks 27th nationally

4 seed Lehigh

NCAA RPI: 239
How they got here: Won Patriot League tournament
Record (conference record/finish): 25-29 (12-8, 2nd in Patriot League)
Number to know: 0 – the number of hitsallowed by Lehigh pitchers Nick Macaione and junior Kevin Boswick in a game

Second baseman Kramer Robertson won’t be available for the NCAA regional this weekend as he continues to recover from an elbow injury that has now sidelined him for more than a month.

Robertson began throwing fully last week for the first time since injuring the elbow during infield drills before the game against Texas A&M on April 23.

LSU’s 27-man roster for the regional will not change from the one Mainieri took to the SEC tournament. It does not include pitchers Kyle Bouman, Ryan May, Brady Domangue, Jake Latz and Robertson or freshman Greg Deichmann.

It may not matter that much overall, but they put the smackdown on the SEC. LSU was the clear overall 1, and only 2 national seeds from the dominant conference is questionable at best.

I'm just getting at that point. If you're in the top 8 it doesn't matter who's in front of you. If you win at your home ballpark that's all that matters, yes you will have challenging teams in your way but true champions don't shy away from competition.

Once you're in a Omaha its a free for all

#LSU pitching rotation:
Friday: TBA
Saturday: Alex Lange
Sunday: Jared Poche'

Mainieri says 10 pitchers will throw today and he and Alan Dunn will decide who will start Friday by Thursday. Could be "a lot of pitchers"
