If an admin wants to sticky this, I think it will be helpful to those people planning on coming later this week.

I see a lot of people are asking questions about the availability and price of tickets here at the CWS. For those of you that may be thinking about coming up this weekend and then possibly staying for the championship series if we make it, here's my recommendation on getting tickets ...

Others may do differently, but here's what we do: Any day LSU plays, we get over to the ticket office at Rosenblatt between 6:30 and 7am ... the ticket office does not open until 10am, so you'll be standing in line for a couple hours, but it's worth it. Bring a couple of chairs with you so you've got somewhere to sit while you wait. When we get there at 7am, there are usually about 100 or so people already in front of us, although that number will probably grow as the series continue and loads of LSU/Texas fans continue to arrive. It certainly can't hurt if you get there before 7am, that is up to you, obviously the earlier you get there the better. I would guess if we play Texas in the championship series, there will be a very high demand for that ticket and you may want to get over there even earlier, as we probably will. Rosenblatt puts 1,000 tickets on sale every day for each game that day (you can only buy tickets for THAT particular day's games, not future days). The max tickets you can buy is 6 per person. ALL Reserved seats are $20 per ticket or $25 for a box seat if they are still available when you get to the window. If you already have GA tickets, you can upgrade it to a reserved ticket for only $10 more. Also don't be scared of what they call "limited view" tickets behind home plate. Most of these seats are fine.

I recommend not fooling with the general admission line. For the GA line, you really need to be in line 4-5 hours before gametime to assure yourself of getting in for the first pitch. GA is fun, but it is a bit more of an inconvenience than reserved seats. Just my two cents. It's a no-brainer to me ... wait in line for 4 hours for a reserved seat or 4 hours for a non-guaranteed seat ... I'm going with the reserved seat. Not to mention with a reserved ticket you have the rest of the day to tailgate, sleep, shop, hit the bars up, whatever you want to do, wheras in the GA line you are going to be very limited as to what you can do other than talk to people next to you in line. If you do want to do GA, I recommend getting in line AT LEAST 4 hours prior to first pitch, if not sooner.

Of course you could always just buy tickets from a scalper which is fine, but you will likely have to pay anywhere from $40 to $100 for a ticket. Also, here is a great site to buy tickets in advance. I've looked through here, and they have some good prices.... Tickets

As far as the seats go, reserved grandstand seats are in the shade. If you get third base line/left field line tickets for a night game, the sun will be setting at your back, which I prefer as opposed to the first base line where the sun will be in your eyes for much of the game. Obviously, for a day game, it doesn't matter where you sit you are going to be in the sun unless you have grandstand seats under the roof.

ETA: The ticket office does not open until noon on days where there is only one game. All other days it opens at 10am. If all of the above information is not enough, you can get addition information on Championship series tickets here... Championship Series Tickets

Hope this information is helpful and I hope to see ya this weekend!

ETA: Below is a seating chart for Rosenblatt. Just for reference, for Saturday night's LSU game, we sat in section J behind home plate, Row 26. For Monday night's LSU game, we sat in Box 43 at the end of the left field line. We are sitting in Box43 for tonight's Texas game as well.

Can you buy tickets from the fans of teams who get eliminated and make some $$?

Certainly, but I really can't provide any in-depth information on that as I've never done it.

Obviously, if you come up before Friday, you can look around and see what you can find, and if you're not able to find any for a decent price, then you'll know to go get in the reserved ticket line early Friday morning (or any day LSU plays) and assure yourself of tickets.

Can't imagine the championship series being too hard to get tickets since most of the other 6 teams fans should be gone.

Yeah... I had actually never seen that vividseats.com website until yesterday. We may very well end up doing that as well for the championship series (buying tickets online in advance). Actually, though, waiting in that reserved ticket line is pretty fun because on days LSU plays it's pretty much all LSU fans. It's not as boring as one would think.

But yeah, if you can get a decent price online in advance, definitely do it so you don't have to worry about any lines. IMO, I would not spend over $50 for any single game, though, even the championship series. Because the $$$ starts to add up if we end up playing 5 more games.

fwiw concerning less attendance for the championship series. the stadium holds like 25k+- for our win in 2000 there were that many there. Last year's m/t/w series drew 19k, 18k, 17k.

Now, dont' get me wrong, we nor texas were in it, but it shows that peopel leave as opposed to before where fans just stayed til the final game and left on sunday...

If you are diligent enough, of course. Since I've been here, I've heard people pay scalpers anywhere from $30 all the way up to $175 per ticket(which someone told me they payed for a ticket to the Southern Miss-Texas game).

If LSU is playing, you should expect to have to pay anywhere from $40 to $100 per ticket. Depending upon your negotiation skills and the amount of time you have to be patient will determine if you spend the lower amount or the higher amount. Personally, I don't like the whole scalper process. I prefer to buy my tickets from the box office for face value and be done with it.

If LSU is in the championship series, the stadium will be jam packed. Last year's championship series was an anomoly because neither Georgia or Fresno State has a big following.LSU and Texas have huge followings in the CWS. It can't be stated enough and it's so true, no fans in the country travel for baseball like LSU fans.

I agree. And given the fact that for whatever reason Omaha adopts LSU when we're here, I think the locals would attend the championship series better than last year simply because LSU is in it.

So JPLSU, can YOU go and find me 5 tickets NOW and negotiate a price for me???

Husband doesn't want to drive 16 hours with 3 kids with no tickets and he doesn't want to wait in line AND he doesn't want to buy online ...

Still trying to figure out why I married him! (Just kidding!)
