JJ is the John Chavis of basketball. Instead of third & Chavis, it's two minutes left & JJ. Continuously blowing large leads late in the game is no sign of greatness.

Dude. The SEC is a pretty friggin bad basketball conference.

I mean, I have pretty much zero opinion on JJ's coaching because frankly, I don't know enough about basketball Xs and Os to assess him.

But, I know he's playing chumps for the most part and when he wasn't playing chumps, we didn't look so good.

Now, to be fair, we didn't have our full team. But still. The SEC is fricking bad.

Other than Kentucky most years, being the best in SEC basketball is like being the best in football in the American Athletic Conference.

JJ dug this own grave he's still digging out, he has to get in the tournament and win a game before he earns ANY respect.

He is still not a very good coach. Talent wise, we have one of the best starting lineups in the SEC, including the #1 pick.

We have 8 losses. We are improving and Johnny gets some credit for that sure. This team still has motivational lapses. If CJJ wants to elevate, make a tourney run. This team has elite 8 type talent.

Let's wait and see if he chokes in the SEC tourney. I'm not even 50% convinced. They aren't playing consistently yet. One game they are balling out of their mind and the next they aren't.

We've played a much harder schedule since SEC play started than before

You have no idea what you're talking about. Going into this week, we had a top 10 RPI since conference play started

Let it go, these idiots will never admit we've turned the corner. Just look who hasn't been around here in some time....bfniii, where is he

People really just don't wanna enjoy it at all. For instance last night when we started slow the threads that popped up, I mean we're rediculous. Then when we came back nobody was posting except the usual suspects (the pumpers as were called). Look this season can still be magical, why not enjoy it rather than bitch non stop

he may be one of the best coaches in the game today but he's one loss away from being the worse.

LSU fans will never change. their coach, name the sport, is a hero or a bum.

i'm not sure how great a coach JJ is because i'm not that versed on basketball but I do know, FOR A FACT, that this program is significantly better that what he inherited. he's put together an exciting team that can win any game they play and he's sold a lot of tickets to fans.

when LSU signs some outstanding guys, in any sport, some fans just assume that we SHOULD win the NC. well, duh, other teams have outstanding guys too. Dale Brown never won a NC and he's the best coach ever at LSU (basketball).

I say lay off and embrace this young team that is actually improving. yes, we probably won't win it all but damn it we're competing.

Why apologize at this point after 2 wins against two of the worst teams in conference? The team has played better, but this week will tell us a lot about this team.

See this is the shite that gets me. People like you who bash Johnny for last year losing games we should have won then this year when we win those said games that it's no big deal cuz these teams suck.

MAKE UP YOUR frickING MIND

Also Mizzou is the worst team in the conference with only 1 win. Oh and yes we play them at home soon

The one thing he did do yesterday is change the defense after the 22-9 opening run by MSU.

LSU came out more aggresive and stopped the open threes. They also got back on defense during transition.

LSU was very sloppy during that early run.

I am not a big fan of his but hopefully he can learn to be a better coach.

we've beat upon a couple of crap teams in the aftermath of an emotional loss to the top ranked team which is a game we should have won.

we're all glad to see them respond like that and be in the position they're in, but this team still has issues: they struggle fundamentally; struggle vs the zone; certain players continue to take terrible shots; that lack of fundamentals hurts them on the glass too because guys aren't getting good position(you saw state come away with a few inexplicable offensive boards yesterday and it wasn't bc we were in a zone); they played some of the worst defense i've ever seen from an LSU team in the first 15 minutes of the game yesterday; our passing is still a concern at times (again fundamentals); our bench depth is schizophrenic

biggest two factors are ben asserting himself early and blakeney coming on

listen: i like where this team is headed, but they've still got a lot of ball left to play and they need to and hopefully will get better

Why apologize, the criticism was legitimate? He has done a good job of recovering and getting this team ready play and deserves credit for that as well.

I think at this point some people are waiting to see how long he and the team can keep this up. I'm in though.
