Even split between called runs and passes. Yardage running almost equal with yards passing. Les achieved almost perfect balance. He will find no fault in the play calling.

The only thing left in his mind is execution. Execution was atrocious, but it is not the only answer.

- it is not the overall balance between run and pass, it is the timing of the calls and play design. 3 straight incomplete passes to Dupre is not balanced.

- a balanced team must utilize the whole field in the passing attack, especially the middle of the field. Where are the tight ends and slot receivers?

- We need a quarterback that doesn't throw everything high. Brandon is killing our receivers. Since he doesn't run effectively, why not try a more accurate passer (if we have one). Does Brandon purposely throw high to the sidelines to avoid the possible interception? If not, how can a third year quarterback be that inaccurate?

- offensive line play. Is it coaching or strength and conditioning? Our guys can't pass block teams with more than average talent on the defensive line.

- poor talent evaluation on offensive line. Every year it seems Les misjudges who needs to play where on the line and shuffles during or after the first game. Perhaps our defensive line does not test the offensive line in practice and everyone looks good?

Agreed the no. 1 problem has never been "balance", so to speak. It's been that we are wildly predictable, simple and totally un-willing to switch things up a bit on offense. It's so goddamn frustrating.

The problem is not balance. It's scheme. He's playing 1980s football in 2016.

Dual threat QBs should never be under center. Never.

Harris isn't dual threat. He's a pro-style that can run. although it doesn't seem like he's progressed at either.

Since when? Miles is the answer you seek.

I think the offensive line's poor play has everything to do with the predictable play-calling.

This is a great question. You'd think a team that features the I-formation in 60% of their plays would actually run it correctly [that means, using the slots and TE as opposed to running toss dive almost exclusively].

We need a coach that can develop the QB. This includes building their confidence and catering the offense to their play-style.

Well it is about the balance and the timing. But your point is understood.

He actually told GL Rush at halftime that "we threw the ball well."
Seriously.

When that third-year QB is STILL throwing off his back foot.

I think a better way to say it is balance in execution. I think 10 out of the last 12 NCAA champions had near 1:1 yards in the pass and run.

The other 2 that didn't were Cam Newton's AU and Jameis Winston's FSU -- both Heisman Trophy, NFL QBs.

Once. In the stadium.

What's your point?

I couldn't believe he said that. That's like a JV Highschool coach happy with his QB's 2 completions.

That was evident against Eastern Michigan last year.

What is truly surprising is how bad they are at run blocking.

Well we did have one completion to tight end. If felt uncomfortably at-ease for a few moments and then reality returned.

And he was fist bumping Cam Cameron with a smile from ear to ear after they got stuffed on 4th and 1 at midfield right before halftime that caused another wisky field goal. That told me right there how clueless that man is

THis is a good point. For a "run first" team they actually aren't very good at running the football. At least, not very efficient at running the ball. If you're going to be a run first, do a zone-read. Look at Baylor last year in their bowl game. They were gashing the defense for like 9 yards a carry.
