With all the QB talk going on, no one has said a word about the O-line. They are still sub par. We stunk running the ball for 3 Qtrs, Vandy put it to us till they got tired or what ever happened to them. Bama won't get tired and if we block like that, it will be a very long season with things getting worse when the real teams show up.

Is this your attempt to blame JJ's ineptness of running on the o-line, or his inability to pass, because it's real easy to coach the other team and load the box when the qb is inept at all phases other than handing the ball off. But I do agree in that Ala. will not tire so easily.

I think JJ's performance had something to do with this.

A lot to do with it. The OL is better.

JJ has everything to do with the play of the O line. Confidence of the QB will eventually show up in all the other disciplines. If the QB has no confidence or command authority, you can't expect the players around him to play better. The QB has to have confidence.

Actually, I think the line has been decent in terms of pass blocking this year. It is hard to tell how good they are at run blocking, because our opponents are putting more people in the box than we can block. It is the same as last year; the QB is not a threat so stack the line to stop the run.

250 plus yards rushing and your trying to blame JJ not being able to hit the broad side of a barn on them.

Now this is a good point. I've definitely seen improvements in pass blocking!!! Well said.

As for the run, I'm still really concerned. We wore vandy down. Sheps reverse and Ridleys long run accounted for well over 100 yards of our offense. Excluding these 2 plays, our ypc was not all that impressive.

Que Santana Moss to tell us this isn't true (even though it absolutely was last night).

The OL job is not to open up holes the size of mack trucks, it should provide seams and time for the SHITTY QB to hit receivers in stride. THEY HAVE! IF the QB could do his job, then the D as a whole has to spend more time on the field chasing the reciever / RB / QB and will tire them selves out. BUT if the QB can't complete passes, there fore giving the D alot of time to rest, well ........

It's getting painful to watch JJ attempt to play QB and him not ever progressing to the point where he looks like he could lead LSU to victory against the good teams...Lee needs to be given another shot to start and if he can't do it, than this team & next years team will be mediocre at best.

oline is better; better running game and so far, better pass protection than last year. there is still a way to go, but the interior of the pocket isn't collapsing like last year. we are not getting sacked like last year. they are moving in the right direction.

Yeah. The O-line sucked as evidence by 280 rushing yards.

Hard to say after just two games. UNC shut us down with a depleted D and Vandy is really not that good. If LSU can run the ball for 250 against MSU I will THEN say they are improved.
