With JJ being so much in the media spotlight and his talents starting to be recognized on a national level, can he step it up and make a run at the heisman? If he is leading the team, both as leader and with talent, the way he seems to be doing, and with a team in contention for the NC, he has more than a little shot at it. If he wins NC and heisman, will his detractors recognize his talents or will they still be saying Lee should be the starter?

JJ and Heisman should never be used in the same sentence.

I watched JJ in 2010. He wasn't just bad at his position he was amazingly bad at his position. All the hype in the world won't cause him to hit a receiver in stride on the first third and fifteen he faces.

I HOPE SO! Only NC contenders get mentioned for Heisman. T-Bag is the last winner from a team that wasn't a National Championship that season.

While I would l would love this to happen, did this really need another thread. It's just going to turn in to a 10 page thread of bashing and fighting amongst LSU fans. And aren't 99% of your posts about JJ. Kin folk?

yes it did.

The competition is particularly strong this year at the QB position with Andrew Luck as a prohibitive favorite. But with the media attention Jefferson has gotton in the off season, the hugh strides he has made on the practice field, his increasing confidence, a coordinator who will work with his talents, and the expected excellant season LSU is expected to have, all signs point to him being in the hunt.

where did this heisman shite come from in the first place???? i mean i am all for JJ but really? really? the dude has statistically one of the worst seasons for an lsu qb EVER, and now he's a potential heisman??

the best explanation i can think of is trolls but some of these posts look alarmingly genuine.

And its gotten, huge and excellent.

But there have been 3 threads on JJ heisman hopes in the last week. Every one of them turns to shite after 3 pages. Like I said, you either know him or are kin to him, and that's cool. But I think it's ridiculous to start placing those aspirations on him when he hasn't even played a game. I don't love JJ, I don't hate JJ, I just want him to be a good QB. But I'm not expecting him to be a heisman winner. Honestly, if we make it to the Title game, I think our heisman candidate will be Spencer Ware. But I don't see him winning it either unless he has +1600 rushing and +300 receiving.

Ask me again if we are undefeated AFTER we beat Bama at home. We can't get through this OOC schedule without a top QB; same rationale in beating Bama in T-town. IF we can pull that off, LSU should promote JJ hot 'n heavy.
