Are we now going to adopt ANOTHER "special number"?

Really?

if they keep doing it, it should be Mills. He was the best DB on our team this year.

Ego got saddled with 9. I think it's funny a d-lineman got single digit number. Would be cool if they all had them.

Don't really care. Is Logan leaving? Could Hill get 18? Could really increase the value/visibility of that number and it's meaning.

Got most of this info from this location on TD

Who Else wore #7

The first player to wear #7 was:

Bert Jones QB

Prior to that no players wore single digits.

Since 1980

Alan Risher QB
Steve Rehage CB/SS
Chris Moock QB
Brian Desselles P
James Gillyard LB/DE
Rondell Mealey RB
Trev Faulk LB
Gino Giambelluca WR
Adrian Mayes FS
Ali Highsmith LB
Michael Schultz QB
Jimmy Welker QB
Harold Chambliss WR
Paul Rushing WR
Patrick Peterson CB
Tyrann Mathieu CB

Got the positions from
LSU Rosters
LSU Lettermen

It looks to me like there is no real "tradition" to this number. 3 out of 4 years that Highsmith was there, he shared it with at least one other player, one of those years there were 3 #7's on the roster. Historically 7 Defensive players, 9 Offensive players, 1 special teams player. QB has had the most.

Positionally-
QB - 5
WR - 3
CB - 3 (1 was CB/SS)
LB - 3 (1 was LB/DE)
RB - 1
FS - 1
P - 1
SS - 1 (1 was CB/SS)
DE - 1 (1 was LB/DE)
