Cept he will never get to "top" end speed on this defense.

You don't have LB's faster than Fitz, that is a fact.

Devin White is a converted running back and Corey Thompson is a converted safety. White is one of the most freak-ish athletes I have ever seen. Nick Fitzgerald is not going to be pulling away from either of them, and don't be surprised to see Devin White run him down in the open field. And none of this is a knock on Nick. He's actually a childhood friend of mine (fell out of touch when I moved after 8th grade) and I am rooting for him to be successful overall (just not against LSU)

I said he can pull away from DB's. For the sake of clarity, I'm saying in dead sprint he can put distance between him and DB's chasing him. And I'm not claiming he can do that with every DB, just that I have seen it happen before and if you've watched a lot of his games you probably have too. I'm in no way making the argument that Fitz is the fastest guy on the field. I'm just saying that I've seen him pull away from DB's and that his top end stride is stupid fast for a QB.

Ok, Ill stop fckn with you now. But to make my final point. He will never break full stride North and South.

Be a good idea to not overlook NF. Dude is probably not Rosen and a passer but I don't want to be the team to find out how good he can be.

He's a legit threat on every play and we need to stop dismissing that he can complete passes when the defense is fooled on playaction. We got burned by UT Chat like that with young players so it's not out of question. I don't see him winning the Heisman this week tho.

He's as good as if not a better runner than Hurts. He's a slightly better passer than Hurts. Hurts has better receivers though so that's a wash. As a straight up passer, he's a hot garbage sandwich.

While I do agree with you that Fitzy is fast, he's not quick and there's a huge difference. He's not all that agile either, he's powerful, has a good arm (not accurate most times) and he's fast, I would say 4.55 range at best. I know Key, Chassion, Thompson, White, Alexander, Taylor, Queen, Phillips, Thornton, and Anthony could all run him down with their quickness. They are all much quicker than Fitzy. Now if Fitzy were to get passed them somehow he could get passed most of them. White, Queen and possibly Phillips, Key, Taylor and Chassion could all catch him from behind. White and Queen could easily catch him. All linebackers. This isn't a race anyways, it's how will he be able to gain the yards he needs to build up to his top speed. Now don't sit here and tell me he doesn't need at least 15 to 20 yards to get to a speed where he can start to leave our linebackers. If he gets that open it won't be very much. Y'all will HAVE to run up the middle on LSU or use the short passing game to open it up. With the way our CBs are playing good luck doing that all game.

Fitzgerald and Patterson are the best two QBs we'll face from an individual talent standpoint.

I like our chances due to the supporting cast though.

Devin White isn't running him down in the open field without an angle

Our matchup hinges on how well our DL can contain him around the line of scrimmage

Regardless if he runs a 4.55 or 4.66, he can move, and a 6'5" 240 guy running that fast into the second level means trouble. You think Kary Vincent, Greedy, or Delpit have ever tackled a man like this?

We can't let him get a head of steam. Must play the read option flawlessly. Lawrence is a huge huge huge loss as he is our best DL

He's much improved and seems to have good backs to compliment him. He will have to throw the ball to win. Aranda not gonna let him beat us running

Read option has been around for years on the HS level, players are use to it.

Would have been 0-3 if not for DJ Welter playing MLB.

As usual Lester, youre spot on.

Usain Bolt is normally behind at the 40. Fitz isnt a great 40 guy but hes plenty fast enough in the 40 for a QB and if he gets a head of steam he can take it to the house and put a big lick on our undersized secondary.
2nd in rushing last yr to Guice? And when you consider the AU, Ark and Bama run games, if that doesnt impress you...
Nothing anyone says positive about them is going to make you blink.

LSU better stop the interior run game or they will be beaten. Its not for sure that this will happen and anyone that thinks LSU is going to hold them to 50 yards rushing and dominate the interior, have eaten too many Cheerios.

I think LSU will do enough to win the game, but they must first not allow the interior run game to control the clock, 2nd contain Fitz and/or 3rd have a huge day offensively against a very good SEC defense.
This is no gimmee for either side of the ball.

I think Aranda turns the Louisville game plan loose on them. Ain't no Heisman winner walking through that tunnel Saturday.
