Tread lightly. There are some nancys around here that get pretty pissed off if you don't drink the koolaid all day every day.

I do agree with the OP though that things seem more positive than ever right now.

I really can't see that happening this year.
If it does I will be done with LSU football for a while

We'll see. I just hope we can beat Ole Miss and Arkansas this year. The last two years have been embarassing.

Agreed. I must have missed the part of the show where LSU went 13-0 in the spring/summer football league. I was under the impression LSU hasn't played a game since December.

the reins need to be loosened

This has nothing to do with any reins, it has to do with whether or not Harris can complete a screen pass. The guy's got a great arm, and a good deep threat, but no short-mid-range threat.

If I'm the OC, I'm not going to be calling a bunch of passes in the flat if the QB can't actually complete them.

I'd prefer the strongest shite they can get their hands on that could still remain undetectable lol. Very short acting water based testosterone ester should do the trick. Could you imagine our monsters jacked on game day with test suspension??? HHEEEELLLLLLL YYYEEEAAAHHHHHHH lol

Last year the defense was on the field too much because of the offense. There has to be a balance.

What? Lsu was 4th in the sec in TOP.

Our offense was 4th in the sec in offensive yards per game andand 3rd in the sec in offensive points per game. We were 11th in the country in offensive yards per play. Our offense was not our problem last year.

Our defense was on the field because they sucked. Only 3 teams failed to scored 20 points against us last year and one of those 3 scored 19 points.
our defense was 54th in opponents offensive tds per game.

You do realize you can look this shite up,right?

The usual excuses aren't here this season (inexperienced QB; decimated by NFL draft, off recruiting year).

On offense, LSU returns their entire backfield, 3 of 5 starting OL and essentially every WR of note

On defense, virtually the entire DL and DB groups return. The only weak spot is LB.

Their last 3 recruiting classes have ranked, on average, 4th in the nation.

Arguably the 2 best SEC teams they will play this season (Bama and Ole Miss) are at home. The other East opponent is a Mizzou team that seems to be rebuilding. It's really hard to imagine a BETTER scenario for an LSU national championship run than 2016.

There are years to temper expectations. 2016 isn't one of them. Like it or not, anything less than a playoff appearance will be a disappointment

The most successful coaches in lsu history?

I swear some of you kids live in an alternate universe where Miles has not been the best lsu coach ever.
Youre shitting on a coach that has as many top 5 finishes at lsu than Mac,Saban, and Dietzel combined. But hey dont let facts get the way of shitting on the face of lsu football.

Our offense was not bad last year.

We lost 3 games last year with an average defense and poor QB play. What coach in America does better than that in the SEC last year under the same circumstances?
The national champs and the sugar bowl champs that beat the national champs without Tunsil, were 2 of those losses.
Its amazing to me the perspective of some that bash the face of the program. Some actually believe the man cant coach or recruit great coaches and players. They want him to throw an 18 yard out on first down then he will be a good coach. Smh. This isnt play station.

This years team has nothing to do with what happened last season with ignorant Joe Alleva.
He had the perfect storm hit him. The state quit producing QB's, other teams caught up with talent and money, and Saban's 6 straight years of #1 recruiting classes all hapoened together. And he caught the wrong teams in the bowl games during this small setback.Just a dip in the road for the great Les Miles. He was going to right the ship regardless of the AD or the circumstances.

Can you filter it to show just the SEC games?
Bama, Ole Miss and Arky didnt care about stats.
