It's off-season and this is coming from a poster that wants the hype to be reality, but has been labeled nega - I would have loved Jimbo here if that happened.

That said, ever since that admin debacle, LSU football has found a new sense of purpose. The whole mood of the program has shifted from sustaining and competing to dominating. This encompasses hires, recruiting, philosophy and attitude. Swag is old and over-played, but I feel some real prove-it for this team and program.

That attitude had been seized by some SECw upstarts in recent years. We've lost games to them the last few years and their misguided belief that they matter. I think we end that now.

I think and hope we have a domination mindset.

I agree with all you said...the only thing I am waiting to see is if Moffitt ups his game to Cochran levels. I'm sure I'm about to get blasted for saying that. Whatever lol

I agree. But for my own sake, I'm taking the cautiously optimistic approach.

I think this started with the hire of Kragthorpe. He got sick, and delayed it, but soon after it was Cam, Grimes, Orgeron, and now Aranda.

No, it didn't start when Miles was almost fired; that's just when the negas finally got the blinders off. Our 2014 class was very good, and our 2015 class looks like the goat. The top 8 guys in that class, according to 247, are all looking like potential first round draft choices. I've never seen a class like that. Hilarious that it was only ranked sixth. Hard to believe it's not the best of that year.

I know it looks like LSU is getting out muscled against Bama and Arky but there has been no deception in the offense to compensate for weaknesses. By the time you play those games the team will have some bumps and bruises that you have to compensate for.
Can you imagine if you hit 4net on some passes past the line of scrimmage when they are expecting run plays. This needs to be the year that we start to see that. Harris being in his third year, the reins need to be loosened. If Cam hasn't gotten him ready to do that then either Harris is not capable or Cam is the problem.

Last year the defense was on the field too much because of the offense. There has to be a balance.

This can be a special year if key people perform.

Let's see where we stand after November is over. Then and only then can we say we're "trending upward."

I made a thread like this last year after we beat Fla, and we all know how it went after that.

Lets just get to the season

Agree. Recruiting has been consistently good but the recent hires will tell the tale. Hated to see Chief go the way he did but it was necessary and our D should be much improved this year.

LSU football is always on the upward trend in recruiting season and the offseason. Let's see how it plays out once we hit the meat of the SEC schedule. All of the hires have been great but until it translates to changes on the field I'll stay in the wait and see mode.

Regardless, for a RB to be our 3rd leading receiver behind Dupre and Dural, that's right where Fournette needs to be.
