I am sure that somehow this is all Paul Mainieri's fault...

but the people on here said we will have 7 or 8 .300+ hitters next year. so don't let it bother you.

No worries. LSU will still win more games than any other team in the nation in 2016 and finish the season ranked number one. For all that's worth.

I follow baseball stuff on here pretty close and never remember literally anyone claiming that.

no but I got bashed for stating that our pitching better be nothing short of spectacular next season because from the look of hitters we had in reserve this past sesaon I can't see more then a couple hitting over .300 next season.

Certainly possible, also certainly probable nobody knows what 8 new guys in the lineup will do which is much more the case. A good majority of the guys starting next year have taken either 0 or very few AB at this level so there's no telling what we'll see. What we do know is Mainieri has been pretty good going out getting solid JUCO talent recently and it's a JUCO heavy class with some really good hitters in it which it needed to be. He went out and got a handful of guys who crushed the ball around in JUCO last year which is exactly what we need as fillers for the young guys having to step into major roles now.

Only La player on the roster is Jake Rogers the Tulane catcher. Really good defensively but struggled at the plate....must have found something at the Cape.

That is not why you got bashed. You said you doubted that we'd have any .300 hitters. This was your post

really doubt we have any .300 hitters next year, so pitching better be outstanding enough to keep the opposition under 3 runs.

I concede that. I was trying to be generous, because I was to lazy to look up my post. I also hope that we do have some success with JUCO players next season because we'll need the hitting.

Well at the time these teams were picked most of our players had only been up there for 2-3 weeks.

I think Fraley will carry the torch pretty well next year. Predict he'll hit well over three hundred. The Tigers will be pitcher dominated next season on paper but we'll likely see at least 2 or 3 guys really step up besides Jake.

I can see Fraley and Zardon and 2 or 3 new guys, but I have never seen someone predict 7 or 8. LSU had that last year which is rare and those guys are gone. I don't anticipate being in the top 2 or 3 nationally in BA like last year. Tigers will still be a very good team in 2016.

I think they didn't play enough games to be eligible. They aren't listed in league leaders for the same reason.

after all, CPM turned the average catcher alex bregman into the all American ss alex bregman.

He said so himself. Have faith.
