He's game 1 at a Regional type of pitcher. Someone to get you the win and save Nola for the Supers.

Huh? If we host, Nola won't pitch game 1, but he's definitely pitching game 2.

Yep. And I'd hate to be the team that has to try and beat us twice with Eades throwing the Sunday game.

I believe Mainieri has done an exceptional job managing all aspects this season. I don't see any reason to truly criticize the decisions he has made.

I like that he was open to giving McCune a shot after initially looking well in a short sampling.. and I like the fact that he did go back to Glenn in this big series.. and let him pitch game 1.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I could make a pretty good argument that Mainieri a.) knows Glenn better than any of us and can better assess that "risk" or b.) May have even discussed the decision and explained why it was important.

In any case, the point is that it certainly wasn't a crazy/dumb/foolish decision to give the ball to McCune. Saying "I wouldn't have done it and here is why" is reasonable. Saying it was a dumb decision and/or proposing that Mainieri made this decision for the purpose of "demoting Glenn" because he didn't recognize that he had a quality outing a week previous is not reasonable.

In any event, at least Glenn is looking like a guy who will perform well for us moving forward. That was a big question mark for this team about 2-3 weeks ago.

No doubt. i dont know anyone who did that though. However, i was at the game and didnt read much of the rant after the loss so im sure it was prevalent.

This guy gets it. You can't use the outcome of a decision to make a judgement on whether the decision was good or bad. You can only use the facts that were known at the time of the decision.
