That was ugly and hard to watch. I was highly disappointed that we came out like that after two weeks off against an inferior opponent. Looked like a Les Miles team all over again - defense gives up an 8 minute drive, couldn't complete a pass. We play like that at all in the next 6 games we may find ourselves on the short end of the stick.

I dont think you'll see them play like that again this season. Supposedly Coach O went retarded on them last night at halftime.

Hopefully this team has matured enough to not play like that again

It was a classic look ahead game. Distractions for 2 weeks and Ole Miss coming in this week. Just came out flat. It was good to face some adversity and come back strong.

The difference is that under Les we wouldn't have come out like we did in the second half. What I liked the most is that we were throwing the ball with 5 minutes left in the game and a 28 pt lead. Under Miles I'm sure we would have won but it would have been more like 24-10 or 31-17. That was a beat down in the second half. Almost completely made up for the first half.

Win 45-10. Throw for 275 and 3 TDs. Average 11 yds a rush. Bitch because they weren't completely dominant the entire game.

I'm glad they made the 2nd half adjustments and cleaned up the penalties.

We had two weeks off on a weird cancellation.

We looked and played sluggish for one half against an opponent that may have not been taken too seriously.

Conversely, the opponent came in fully torqued. That said, if the first drive didn't get extended multiple times on stupid penalties, the first half would have turned out much differently. We shot ourselves in the foot so many times on that drive of theirs that we didn't have any toes left.

Coach O woke the guys up at halftime and we dominated.
Why dwell on a slow start when the finish was so good?

45-10 etling completed passes receivers caught passes guice ran really far all in second half.

Use to be 26-20 couldn't complete a pass we did diddly squat pooh a secured victory late in fourth.

Not really worried about it, a strange couple of weeks with a lesser opponent will lead to the team coming out flat. Also, USM has a pretty good offense. They be ready to go next week.

One of the biggest gripes people had about Miles was coming out flat against lesser competition. It was a little bit concerning to be honest, and I think some people are looking past it much more than they would otherwise just because they are excited that things are different at LSU.

That being said, Orgeron won't be graded on his performances against Mizzou and Southern Miss. Our last 5 games are brutal and will determine if O has any shot at the HC job.

Right on. This crossed my mind as well. Given the huge disruption of Les getting shown the door, I guess my optimism is giving the team a pass.

Defense still looked good though in reality. They only scored the TD because of a stupid penalty.

The offense just looked they were not really trying. It was just one of those games. The fact that it didn't continue into the 2nd half is perhaps the most notable thing about the entire game. Doubtwe would have looked any different the second half if we still had Miles.

Was pretty obvious what the problem was. Players weren't taking the opponent seriously. Not exactly what you wanna see but I think it was a good thing for a few reasons. One is because now they know what can happen when they don't give effort. Talent and play calling won't allow them to play at 50-75% effort. Also a huge thing is the fact that Coach O lit into their arse at half time and they responded. They saw the difference in what they can do when they give it their all and buy into what the coaches are doing.

Was a big learning experience and right on time imo

I have no idea what went on in the first half.

But because of that, we were motivated to score 4 touchdowns in the third quarter.

It shows we have quick strike capability now. That should alarm future opponents.

That's the most fired up I've seen an LSU team play in a 3rd quarter in a while. Whatever O did, it definitely let the fire.

Anyone else noticing that Aranda is REALLY good with halftime adjustments. USM moved the ball pretty well in the first half, but the defense just put the hammer on them in the second. I love what this guy bings to the table.
