NFL.Com ranks LSU #2 for WRU

2. LSU
First-round picks last 15 years: 4
Top three rounds: 10
Total drafted: 14
The skinny: Odell Beckham, Jr., stamps a certain approval on LSU's claim. He's one of the most exciting young players in the NFL. Beckham was a first-round pick last year, as were Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis in 2007, and Michael Clayton in 2004. Jarvis Landry, a second-rounder in 2014, made 84 catches as a Dolphins rookie. Other LSU pros in the span: Devery Henderson, Josh Reed, Brandon LaFell and Rueben Randle.
It's amazing how much talent has come through LSU. The consensus across the country is that we are a run first team that just so happens to generate NFL talent at the wide receiver position. Although the QB position is in doubt at the present moment, there have been some pretty impressive college QB'S throwing to these receivers: Davey, Russell, Mauck, Flynn, Mett.

I really don't understand this though. If you want it to actually sound relevant, stop placing teams over us with players late in their careers and almost out the door. Sure, they use to be WRU, but LSU, Baylor, and Clemson are the new trend with LSU leading.
in the last 5 years LSU has put in most notably, LaFell, Randle, Beckham, and Landry into the draft. Just last year, all 4 had at least 70 receptions 750 yards and 3 TDs. Three of them had over 930 yards, and 3 had at least 5 TDs. That's not even including what Bowe did last year in a down year.

I agree, but just wait until our current crop of WRs become draft eligible, do we have 3 or 4 pro WRs on our team at the moment?

If I were a WR with any pro aspirations at all, I'd stay as far away from LSU as I could, given the current QB situation and offensive philosophy.

Or, just count the players that are still in the league. Sure, Clayton was drafted in the 1st round, but he's been out of the league for around 5 years. Why is he still counted? If there was a link, I'm sure I'd find similar results for the other teams in the top 10.

Right, because having the most amount of wide receivers drafted of late is a sign that those with NFL aspirations could do better elsewhere. I swear, this board is full of fricking stupid sometimes.

It seems like these two are earning their spot based on one player alone.

Calvin Johnson went to Georgia Tech. They threw it 4 times a game. He was drafted 2nd overall. Shut the frick up.

Calvin played for Chan Gailey, not Paul Johnson. BeBe Thomas on the other hand falls into your description.

Because it obviously worked out so poorly for OBJ and Landry. . .
Dumbass.

Amazing how little we produce in the passing game with the amount of talent at WR
